Selden Standard offers an outstanding dining experience with great service and delicious food. Every dish is exceptional, with perfectly balanced flavors and textures. The menu changes according to what's coming off the farms nearby, making each dish outstanding. The staff is accommodating and knowledgeable, handling allergies like celiac and tree nut allergies while pre-marking safe dishes. Highlights include the sweet corn pasta, house-made sourdough and butter, roasted mushrooms, whole chicken, roasted carrots with harissa yogurt, and lamb ribs, which are melt-in-your-mouth good. Desserts like upside down carrot cake and pavlova are also savored. Selden Standard features a short cocktail menu, but has a decently lengthy wine and beer list. The bar is first come, first serve, and the open kitchen adds energy without being too noisy. It’s a must-visit destination in Detroit, worth a special trip to the city for a fun, busy, and enjoyable dining experience.
