Great bakery! They have unique flavor combos on their food. I had a snickerdoodle cookie with fennel seed that was delicious! My cousin had the apple maple pie and she said it was yummy. They had a savory hand pie that day that my cousin bought as well. I've attended a hand pie cooking class there. Everything is hand made and unique.

It was my last day in Detroit after being in town for a conference so I saved Sister Pie for last so I could take some goodies back to LA.
O.M.G!!! That coffee pie! Bruuuh! Soooo good! Also had a slice of that sweet potato pie. That was so freaking good. I went back to buy two of each to take home with me. Also took the oat meal cookies just because at that point I knew they was gonna be good without even trying them.
I think what was so impressive about the pies besides their superior flavor was that the crust held so well. I had no problem picking up the slice and eating it like, say, a tart. The rest of the pie was smooth and creamy in texture. It’s definitely in my top pies ever. I would go back in a heartbeat if given the chance. And I’ll take whole pies next time.
If you are from out of town, do not skip this place AT ALL. You must go and give yourself a Made in Detroit experience.

If you have the chance to sign up for any class, especially the savory hand pie one, DO IT! Had such an enjoyable time learning from Lindsey and Gus, who were great instructors on making the all butter dough. Bought this as a birthday gift for a friend and it was the perfect experience gift. Each person in the class also got a goodie bag of treats to try. Sister Pie will be a go to destination in the future!
