Tried a local BBQ hotspot, but honestly a bit disappointing this time 😔
Chicken was dry, beef served cold — surprisingly, the pork stole the show 🐷
Potato salad was decent, and mac & cheese just barely made the cut 🥔🧀

Just for the record my #4's are my 5's. I ordered a brisket sandwich that wasn't what I ordered , so I called to speak to the manager Carrie . She was so nice , not only did she replace my sandwich but gave me a side. The customer service was a 5 ⭐️ . I appreciate you!

Food was very salty and burnt, not good at all. Maybe I came at a bad time but seemed very over rated.
The sauces are also of low viscosity, could be thicker

Both times I went there near noon. Doors are locked and not open. No answer either …….11/6/25
The American Dream!! Almost could not eat the sandwich by itself!!
Returned a few times and always liked it, but tonight (11/4/25) the iced tea was from a fountain machine - yuck!! And the green beans were dry and just not good. Brisket was amazing, service was great.

I've never needed a steak knife for brisket but here we are, I've been coming on and off since they opened. I often ten people the best BBQ in Metro Detroit is here, well I've been doing them dirty. I got the trio and it was all cold tough old meat. Really disappointing, the brisket was too old, cold and tough to cut with a steak knife, the chicken had an off flavor very little evidence of smoke and was cold and hard, the pulled pork was probably the best thing on the plate but by then I was covering everything in sauce hoping it was add some kind of moisture. The corn bread had little flavor but the Mac and cheese and stewed okra (weird I've never had it like that) was pretty good. Service was good beer selection was mostly hazy IPAs and meh.

Detroit staple that smells like hickory and happiness. The pulled pork sandwich with mac & cheese on the side is everything you want — smoky, creamy, ridiculous. Service is laid-back, portions are huge, and the beer list could double as a reading challenge.

We’ve been coming here since it opened over 10 years ago. The vibe is super cozy, the barbecue is delicious and every side is worth ordering depending on what you’re in the mood for. My top recommendation is the pulled pork, Mac n cheese, green beans and potato salad. The wood decor inside is so warm and service was friendly. Slows is a consistent experience every time.
