I had to take my car to the shop luckily my mechanic is right around the corner from this place. I used to play my steel drums here for yoga class and the lady in charge let me hang out here until my car was ready to go.

Went this past Saturday night, and absolutely loved the atmosphere and vibe! The DJs were on point, and security in the parking area were present and making their rounds. I can't wait to come back!Parking: Located in a more industrial area, the parking is what is to be as expected. I was pleasantly surprised to see security driving around monitoring vehicles.

On 12/2/23 mine and my friend’s car windows were busted and our vehicles were ransacked. We both parked on opposite ends of the venue. I parked right next to security. Criminals left everything of value, so assuming they’re after cash and g*ns. We were not the only vehicles broken into that night.After reading other reviews before submitting, this is a 2 year long issue the venue has chosen to not resolve and it’s seemingly occurring every weekend.Great venue, I’ve been around the Detroit music scene for ~15 years and this is the only place I’m hearing of this issue despite the owners replies on other posts. Never seen this at TV, Russell, Marble, Tangent, or various afters.Spot Lite, go hire off duty officers; armed and allowed to act. Pay them well. You need four not two so they can hold all entry/exit points at the intersection. The night I was there you only had one security guard and they basically said .. I saw them but what you want me to do.Parking: Lack of adequate security.

Was in Detroit for the first time and had to check out Spot Lite. Tell me where else at 10 p.m. you can shop for records, listen to Live D.J.'s spinning old school beats, check out great original Art, eat great food and get a tasty cocktail? You immediately feel welcome here as it has a chill, unpretentious vibe and friendly staff.When I told the owner that this place was a dream, she responded that it was hers. Her passion and love definitely comes through in everything Spot Lite has to offer. Can't wait to make my way back to Spot Lite again one day.
Great spot for a big group, great music & dancing. Our bartender Eli was fantastic. Will be back!

The low score has to do with accessibility wheelchair users would find a very difficult to gain access to this establishment unless they had someone with them. Once inside it is very accessible and there is one handicap bathroom.As far as drinks go, they make fabulous ones and if you're looking for a delicious cocktail, this is a great place to go.

Three cars, including mine, got broken into while I was inside. Passenger window shattered. This is a reoccurring experience. I’ve had two friends on separate occasions experience the same thing.

Went to Spot Lite to see Soul Clap and everything was great. Entry was great, bar was fast and attentive to the guest, and they even had a record selection to look at and buy from! Will be back.
