Had the most wonderful experience at Standby for my birthday! Booked a last minute reservation after walking by. Was intrigued by the secretive entrance and the vibes from the window. The hostess was so kind, they placed a special birthday note inside my menu. Ordered a cherry amaretto sour which was phenomenal; may be one of the best cocktails I’ve ever had. My partner got the brown butter crab waffle and I got the short rib. Both dishes were INSANE! Especially the short rib. Best short rib of my life but also potentially the best meal of my life! Our waiter also offered to buy me a shot for my birthday which was so kind! To top it all off, I got the chocolate donut for dessert. The staff were so attentive and were constantly checking on us and filling up our waters. The place is small but they make the most of it! The most pleasant dining experience in my recent life and a wonderful way to celebrate my birthday. Have been raving about this place ever since. Thank you, Standby! I’ll be back.

Significantly downhill since the last time we’ve been here. Drinks were watery, very much filled with mixers plus ice. Food was mediocre at best. Staff was not friendly nor accommodating. Atmosphere is claustrophobic and was exceptionally hot in there (sweating just sitting there). Not the quality it used to be whatsoever.

Super enjoyable time at standby, got the sticky toffee flip and the milk toast. The food and cocktails were super good definitely a very cozy vibe and all the staff was super friendly and helpful.

Low key nice place. Didn't try the food. Bartender was (I'm probably spelling it wrong) Marques. I'm 50 and been to hundreds of bars. He was the most polite and patient bartender. He didn't rush off to help someone else, he was patient and even asked if we had allergies before he made ourc drinks. If you go, hopefully you get him.

Everything was great, except if you have a 5:00 reservation don't get there early because they don't open the doors till 5. Music was great if you like oldies R&B.

I brought my mom for dinner and we had an amazing time. Our server Shy was very sweet and recommended the miso butter gnocchi, it was like the grown up version of buttered noodles, which we loved. Our cocktails were very delicious, mom had the el chamuco. It was mule-ish, but waaaaay better. I had the non alcoholic snake cocktail. It was a snowy night, but still a cute vibe in there. Def going back!
