My husband and I stopped into Starters for a quick happy hour meal to celebrate our anniversary, and unfortunately, it’s not the Starters we remember. The cleanliness, service, and overall food quality have really declined. The restaurant had an unpleasant smell—almost like old beer—and the walls, tables, and even menus looked like they hadn’t been properly cleaned in a while.

It used to be one of our favorite spots to eat, but this visit was disappointing. The drinks tasted like cheap, overly strong well liquor, and the only thing that still reminded us of the old Starters was the bread. I really hope the owners take some time to bring the place back to the quality and experience it once had, because as it stands now, we probably won’t be back.

We had the best service! Our waitress name was Zaniya and she was so professional and personable. I ordered the Salmon bites and my sister ordered the steak bites. We both had potatoes (not loaded) and the corn. It was all so very delicious.
It wasn’t crowded which was a plus for us. We came for my birthday meal. No complaints. All was well.

Absolutely DISGUSTING this was my first time dining in and I immediately left. The restaurant was extremely DIRTY the menus were sticky and disgusting, the lights were all dusty as if they haven’t been cleaned all month a horrible experience. I do not recommend dining here the atmosphere was prone for food poisoning.

I ordered an appetizer of chicken taco, I get there to pay for my food, I was told by an employee wedon’t have any chicken tacos, I reply ok and just leave. I call the restaurant and asked to speak to a manager, I get on the phone and her reply was u didn’t order or tell me , her attitude was so nasty, you are a Manager, you supposed to resolve situations. This is my very first time ever leaving a review, I suggest none go to the Starters in the Downtown Detroit Location. Close the Business

Everyone loves Starter's Bar and Grill Midtown. Always a fun atmosphere with family and Friends weather it's watching a game or a celebration. The food was delicious and the drinks were amazing

Ordered a whole wing dinner to go and didn't get that. Mohammed the supervisor said they changed their menu and the whole wings are not full size anymore. I come to starters several times throughout the month and always order whole wings and I know he's lieing because he didn't want to fix the order and refund me my money. Getting a wrong order isn't the problem it's the fact they wouldn't do anything to fix it.

Additionally, if you sit at the bar it's always a black woman bartender there with a NASTY attitude always. My server was arguing with him also as I sat there. Also you'll know all their personal business as they tend to you and talk and argue while they're supposed to be working.

Anyone that goes to starters often know exactly what im talking about. Save your money and go somewhere else.

My sister brought me some nachos home and there was plastic in them

We were there Tuesday October 30,25 and there was a few young ladies that were extremely and annoying loud. I even heard one of the workers saying how ignorant they were being. I think one had just got off work but that’s no reason to be that loud in a place of business. Other than that the food was good the chicken just needed more seasoning I couldn’t taste any.
