Surprisingly terrible food quality and service. Will not go back. So many better options in the city.
A 40 minute wait over my reservation time did not lend to a good start for Thanksgiving evening with my family. By the time we got to our table we were exhausted and everything from there onwards was only downhill. Not sure if it was over booking or understaffing or something else but the overall experience on a $500 meal was less than desirable. The only bright spot was our server who tried her best to do what she could. The steak was over done and the rest of the food was not great either. Likely there will not be a next for us at Sullivan's
Slowest service I have ever seen. Have had the same issues as last time I was here a year ago. Out of multiple menu items/wines. Was almost 3 hours for us to have dinner with no appetizers. Food was just good and wouldn't recommend as the service issues are not worth it.
They Sat us Hour after our reservation. Our order was missing salads and our soups. We had to have items removed from Bill we did not receive. None of the servers cared about anything.
Thanksgiving went wonderfully well this year! The team worked together to create an enjoyable experience for patrons! Past years had timing and service issues, but this year when we went, they were a well oiled machine. The GM was ensuring that people had reservations before people got in line to enter to avoid delay. The manager was visible, checking in on staff and guests. Both leaders were helping to clear tables along with staff. The atmosphere was pleasant and we didn't feel rushed. The food was fantastic! They've been listening and learning how to make things better for their guests. Kudos!
The restaurant was COLD. Maybe cold air coming in the doorway because we noticed it when we were in line at the hostess stand. It's hard to enjoy a meal when a cold draft keeps swirling around your table. We were seated along the windows but the draft was not from the windows. We were here after the parade for the prix fixe Thanksgiving meal. I appreciate what they were trying to do but the execution was sub par. What they tried to pass off as roasted Brussels sprouts with bacon was just wrong. They turned the sprouts into a slaw. It was edible but not at all what the description indicated. The stuffing actually was inedible. It was a literal scoop of some untasty mush. One plate came out with ice cold turkey. The waitress brought a fresh plate but dang. They weren't so busy that food should be coming out of the kitchen cold. Especially since we all ordered from that prix fixe menu. I really do hope they continue to offer a Thanksgiving meal. It's a great idea. Just needs a little work.
From the host to our waitress to the chef all the way to end of dinner, everything was exquisite. We were treated like royalty, and the food had such explosive flavors. My friends and I will be returning in a week!
Slow slow service from bar . One person in our party who was celebrating his birthday ordered a martini that was terrible and he sent it back k and it didn't come til main course came . Had several appetizers/ salad and they had servers picking up our plates and taking our silverware but when main course came we had none and waited 5 minutes til we could flag someone down to get some . Had 2 nice bottles of wine and by the time we got the second one that we ordered before dinner , we were done w dinner . Food mostly good.
Certainly, one of the best restaurants in Detroit! The extremely well trained staff exceeds every obligation and expectation. A special shout out to Melvin and Jaquanda.
Booked a reservation for 7ppl at 7pm for a BIRTHDAY we waited two hours for food once food comes nothing is cooked to our liking, we all ordered steaks and they were burned to a crisp and the inside was either raw pink or over cooked when we let our waitress know she told us she was just going to send the manager , the manager didn't even come out to acknowledge us just the waitress coming back to tell us the manager said we can just leave which is crazy since not only were we there for a birthday but we have been waiting for hours , the waitress said they were short staffed which isn't our fault I made our reservation weeks prior. just disappointed because I came once before and was telling everyone how good it was and then to get there and get the experience we did is crazy but we did tip our waitress for her time ......Overall experience was bad and I will never be visiting again

Our server was amazing, some of the food wasn't as good as it should of been for the price of the bill.
Waitress Shantinique and waiter Diego really nice and professional.

Update: changed my rating from 3 stars to 1 star because I ended up getting sick within hours after eating the food from here 🤢
I did a takeout order because it was crowded here. It was $60 for a piece of salmon, cooked spinach and a baked potato. I told them NO BACON on the potato because I’m allergic to pork. I see it listed on the receipt, yet they still included bacon in a container touching the potato. They also didn’t give me utensils and I had to go back and ask. This is now the 3rd restaurant in Detroit that didn’t take my food allergies serious.
Shantanique and Diego were very good. They made our international group feel at home with recommendations and handling some out of the box requests. Only critique is the ice cube in the old fashioned was frosted. I expected better from sullinvans.
