Supergeil offers a wonderful eclectic menu with amazing doner sandwiches and great vegetarian options. They have a ton of tables available and the option to turn dinner into a platter, perfect for sharing. The restaurant has a cute decor and a beautiful outdoor patio with lots of seating. The food is outstanding and original, with classic dishes like döner (lamb and beef or eggplant) and lentil soup (Persian Lime) featuring extraordinary and unexpected twists. The Lutenitza (roasted pepper, chili, pomegranate, and walnut spread on za’atar flatbread) is a standout, if a bit oily. The flavors are incredible, with some reviews describing them as fireworks and culinary kingdom work—sweet like grace, heat like conviction, and savory like “well done, good and faithful taste bud.” Even without salt, the chef’s skills shine through, impressing diners who note the food is cooked just right.
While the service has had issues, with some guests experiencing surly and hostile behavior from servers, most find the food well worth it. The outdoor patio makes for a nice dining experience if the weather is good. The restaurant is considered one of the best places to eat in Detroit, offering a delicious and fascinating menu that combines flavors perfectly in a casual fine dining setting. Shareable plates are highly recommended, along with their excellent cocktails like sangria. Overall, Supergeil provides a unique and memorable dining experience, with outstanding food that is truly worth visiting.
