First Fridays at TV Lounge was absolutely one of my favourite places to party. Its a laid back older crowd with indoor/outdoor options and great House music. However the last couple of times l was there the Fire Marshall came by threatening to put everyone out. We were forced to wait in line outside for over an hour until what ever violation was fixed or randsom was raised. Both times this happened it was a light crowd so it led me to believe something shady was going on. I remember they used to pull these capers at young clubs back in the day. TV Lounge didn't seem like the kind of spot for this

Lately I’ve found myself going to TV Lounge more often. I usually gravitate toward other clubs, since the techno at TV Lounge can sometimes lean a bit too commercial but to their credit, they’ve been booking some strong acts recently. Norm Talley and Satoshi Tomiie, in particular, were a real draw, so I brought a few out-of-town friends expecting a proper night of dancing.
What we didn’t expect was the layout. Tables, chairs, and sofas were scattered throughout the dance floors, breaking the space into awkward sections. Instead of an open floor, it felt like an obstacle course. The setup fragmented the crowd, limited movement, and honestly bordered on a fire hazard. It completely disrupted what should have been a fluid, communal dance experience.
Thankfully, the music was strong enough that we could momentarily overlook the crowded layout. Once some guests cleared out around 1 a.m., there was finally room to move and only then did the night start to feel like what we had hoped for from the start.
TV Lounge has the bookings and the sound to deliver great nights. But when a club prioritizes furniture over dance floor flow, it undercuts the very reason people come out: to dance freely, together, and without obstruction. So they get a 1 star for atmosphere. They need to do better.

they don’t let you in after 1:40? even if you have tickets? 👎🏻
Great place great management
TV Lounge is the perfect place to wander into to finish your night in Detroit! The music is top notch and the crowd is good vibes. Can't wait to come vibe some more soon! Staff was very kind to me as well.

My homie was told he couldn’t bring his walking stick into the space. He can’t stay balanced on the dance floor without it so he left. This wasn’t a problem for him at Northern Lights Lounge, Motor City Wine, The High Dive, The Outer Limits, or Spotlite. Is there a special night where disabled people are welcome?
Owner is Amazing and very accommodating

Would’ve gave them five stars, if it wasn’t for them shutting down for being over packed and on my birthday.

I used to do monthly donation drives for the homeless here years ago here. Sounds better than ever. Their Nnew paint job is nice
They now have food, (haven't been here in a few years), and the patio has always been fantastic.
On a nice summer night, the warm glow of the fire pits and the patio, are definitely cozy.
I was just leaving a Friday night (1st Friday) this evening.
Nice adult crowd, with class, (dress to impress) and a packed house, both rooms -- on a Friday.
* Special party from 6:00 p.m. until 1:00 a.m.
Shouts out to Bruce Bailey,
Easily, one of my favorite spots in the city.
