Very nice brunch spot. Club vibes with good food. Chicken wings delicious, grits are definitely hot but good!! Will be back.
Noise level was really loud. Between the three birthdays and the DJ it was hard to talk and had to yell. Otherwise everything was great
Ebony was a great waitress. Very kind and attentive. The French toast was phenomenal. The bacon was cheap, like the actual choice of bacon they offer. I was not a fan but our waitress quickly took care of the issue and offered another option. Overall it was a good experience and the staff we encountered were extremely nice. Also they do not play about that specific time for your meal. The website states 1:45 mins for dining. However we were nicely told our time was up around the 1hr 30 min mark. So update the site ;)
As always the restaurant was clean. The wait person was friendly and knowledgeable. The food was so good and plentiful. I love this restaurant.
Awesome experience. My family of 3 was sat in the bar area. Our server was very much dope, greeted us quickly. Drinks, and food came out quickly. We were in and out in all of 30 mins.
We went there before our show at the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. I highly recommend making reservations. We both had Caesar salad with salmon. You get a lot of food and it's delicious. Our server was Ebony and she was fantastic. It is a little noisy in there, but I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Despite the overwhelming noise from a nearby party, amplified by the echoing ceilings, the meal was a standout. Every dish was hot and delicious, and the waitstaff were incredibly attentive. I'd love to return to enjoy the great food and service again, but I'll aim for a quieter lunch visit instead of dinner. But did I mention the hot and delicous? I had shrimp and grits.
The food was spectacular and the service was great. We tried this place on a whim and I'm sure we will be back again!
This was my partner and I's second time at The Block, and our initial experience from the first time (which is why we returned) to this most recent time was hugely disappointing. Our server was disengaged with us from the moment we sat down, didn't check on us regularly, and we had to find multiple other employees to assist us during our dine-in experience (ask for different food items - butter, more napkins). We even had to check out with, who I'm guessing was a manager, because our waiter had disappeared for more than 30 minutes. Couldn't tell you our waiter's name because he didn't introduce himself when we were seated. Positive: Food was delicious as usual, would've loved to order more drinks/food, but the waiter was nonexistent. Wished we could've given his automatic 20% gratuity tip to the busboy who was walking around refilling the water and clearing tables, he was more attentive to us during our visit.
Love the atmosphere, the DJ and the bartender. Had a server that was new, so not so good. Drifters away from my usual wings and skillet, which I won't do again. Will continue to go back for Saturday brunch with my Sista Friends!

Awesome food and friendly staff. Great happy hour too! Highly recommend for dinner before a show at the Majestic theater. We will be back!
Love the atmosphere and the energy of the staff. Great music and food, not much more you can ask for! Looking forward to going back again.
Went for Saturday brunch, the food and drink was outstanding, service was a little slow but otherwise excellent. DJ was great.
The Block is the best brunch spot in Detroit. The food, service, and atmosphere are a vibe!!
It was too loud we couldn't even hear ourselves talking, Overpriced and the tip was added on for a party of two
