I would give the service a 0 if I could. Waitress choosing to cater to a table of folks drinking several rounds than a family coming to have dinner. Food was late, orders were wrong, service was absent. I've gone to the block several times before but I guess last night wasn't my type of crowd night. They catered to something else. I'm over it. If I wanted unfair treatment I could have gone to the suburbs.

Was not a pleasant experience for me. The braised short rib was so salty...the broccoli and mash potatoes were good. The waitress was nice but service was just okay...18% gratuity was included in check which is probably why service was between average to below average...I will not recommend and I won't be returning.

This is our return visit, second trip to the Block, so it must be good! The proximity to the Orchestra Hall is a huge bonus but the food and service were awesome again. Make reservations! We were seated next to the bar that was energetic but fun. I ordered the chicken wings with French toast and my guest had the salmon BLT with fries. Both were fantastic. We will definitely make a return visit to explore the menu.

This place was great! My husband had the short ribs and I had the chicken and French toast. Both were very flavorful. My husband raved about the mashed potatoes and he doesn’t even like mashed potatoes! The syrup tasted like desire, if you can imagine, it was delicious!

This is our "go to" when we are in town and going to see the symphony or a hockey game. We have been here several times over the years since they opened and have never been disappointed. The food is excellent, and the vibe is fun.

15/10 Brunch Experience at The Block Detroit!
If I could give them a 15/10, I absolutely would! This was hands down one of the best dining experiences of my entire 51 years. From the moment we walked in, the vibe was electric and the service was unmatched.
Our waitress, Tenisha, was a total gem They were attentive, warm, and flawless in every detail. She made our party feel like royalty, catering to every need with grace and joy. I’ve never had service like that, ever.
The food? Chef’s kiss. Every bite was seasoned and served with love. Our group came together from near and far including my family from Clinton, Louisiana and The Block turned our brunch into a full-on celebration.
And the Live DJ? Whew! All the jams, all the energy, all the soul. It felt like a reunion wrapped in rhythm and flavor.
Bonus points- they’re connected to Flood’s Bar & Grille, another Detroit staple. This team knows how to deliver excellence with heart.

The signature wings are not fried and they are delicious! Everything my family ordered was excellent. The spinach dip, salmon dinner, seafood pasta and chicken and french toast left us all satisfied. Those who ordered drinks said they were "on point." It was easy to find street parking and we were able to reserve a table online. Some of my family members were running late, but the hostess held the table. This was my second visit and both times were a pleasant experience.
