I highly recommend!!!!! We have visited a few times and never regret it. A small, welcoming space with big personality and delicious food and drinks (the espresso martini is my fave). I come for the vegan options so I don’t have to worry about my food allergies, but my family has enjoyed the non-vegan options as well. The environment is fun; Que is always wonderful to talk with and has so much to be proud of in what she has created here…and if you didn’t know - THEY ALSO CATER…and do cooking classes!!! Que’s daughter Kaitlin is great and I enjoy talking with her as well. We’ve been in for live dj and a loud, fun, diverse group of people. I love what Que’s got cooking here and she’s got a faithful customer for life! Happy to support her with my dollars and my words of encouragement and recommendations to others!

Que and her team did a fabulous job of decorating and catering our garden party. Her presentation is great, her food is excellent, and she is a joy to be around throughout the event. She is a great manager of her team and delivers quality results on time. Her team cleaned up extremely well and were great all around. I would recommend Que's catering and event services to anyone who is looking for a very high quality operation.

This was my first visit to The Kitchen by Cooking with Que. I stopped by this cozy spot for lunch.

I ordered the Vegan Caprese Panini, Side Salad and paired it with their Iced Hibiscus Tea. The sandwich was full of flavor and perfectly satisfying, while the tea was refreshing.

The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it a great place to unwind during lunch. The staff was super friendly and welcoming, and the owner Que really made an effort to connect with guests, greeting everyone personally. It's clear that they care about the experience they provide, and that added a special touch.

I went here and got macaroni, it seemed good until I ate some. It barely had cheese. It was hard stale. Their were bugs in my napkin with thee silverware. Costumer service was terrible. My waitress was beyond rude, I do not recommend this place

Pros: Honest opinion the food was great I ordered fried cauliflower bites (buffalo sauce )
Cons: over priced . Felt like I should have gotten more for my money I’ve been to other places where I’ve gotten double the amount for the price

If you’re looking for bold flavors, vibrant energy, and a space that bridges the gap between plant-based and traditional food lovers, this is it. The Kitchen by Cooking with Que is a must-visit for anyone—vegan or not—who appreciates soul-filled meals and a true Detroit vibe.

Every Friday, the place transforms with “Tiny Kitchen” concerts featuring Detroit DJs and a lively crowd. It’s not just a meal—it’s a whole experience. Founder Que Broden has created something truly special: a Black-owned vegan café and event space that radiates purpose, flavor, and hospitality.

The food? Fantastic. The crispy vegan egg rolls are loaded with flavor and crunch. The coconut curry chickpeas are a warm, comforting dish with perfect spice. And if you skip the vegan mac—you’re making a mistake. It’s creamy, cheesy (without the cheese), and downright addictive.

Also—don’t miss the truffle fries. Enough said.

🧆 Must Try: Vegan Egg Rolls, Coconut Curry Chickpeas, Que’s Signature Vegan Mac

🎶 Bonus: Live DJs + “Friday Night Wine Down” = the most Detroit way to start your weekend.

This place has a nice vibe like being at home with the music playing great food and happy people. Quo is an amazing person!!
We paid $10 in advance to ensure a seat at the bar and paid $ 8 to park after 630 pm in the lot behind the restaurant 🤔. The drinks were good 😋 and creative. I ordered the seasoned potatoes with peppers and chicken & turkey meatballs. The potatoes were delicious, The meatballs took forever to come out and they were not good at all.😐 . The vegan mac n cheese, southwest egg rolls, and chicken wings were also good. I'll be back soon.

Good food, service not good, hours inconsistent. My Go to for Mac and cheese but Update your google info. Very misleading and frustrating and then when you call they answer, but not open?? Why are you answering the phone?

Super bummed by my experience. I’ve wanted to try this place forever and I finally had an opportunity to. When we walked in, there was an extremely strong smell reminiscent of sewage. I’m sure this isn’t normal but no one said anything about it and while I expected it to go away it never did, which is pretty unappetizing. I’d let that go, though, if food and service made up for it. Unfortunately, it did not. After placing our order, our glasses with ice for our water never came, which the server had offered to us. We ordered an appetizer and two orders of vegan Mac. 45 mins later, the vegan Mac finally came out. I let them know we had ordered an appetizer, and they said it was coming….personal pet peeve to get the starter after the main, I order a starter because I’m hungry. When the spring rolls did come out, it was 2 small rolls for $10, and the dipping sauce was just soy sauce. The chicken on the vegan Mac was dry and not flavorful, but I put an extra star on food because I did like the Mac, though my mom was not a fan. I really wanted to love this place, we need more vegan options in the city! But unfortunately I don’t think I’ll be back.

Although the place is small, quaint, and has an intimate vibe, the service was unfortunately awful. The music was extremely loud I could barely hear myself placing my order. After waiting an hour and a half, my food finally arrived: vegan chicken and mac. The “vegan chicken” was overcooked and tough, likely air-fried to death it was so hard I couldn’t even eat it, and everything was cold. I had also ordered a salad, which didn’t arrive until I was cashing out. The drink was the only highlight, but overall, I probably wouldn’t dine here again. My friends food was also cold:/ bummer.

Cool place, and I always wanted to try it. The staff was friendly but the food was just okay. Maybe it's worth coming back for music and drinks.
