This is my favorite bar in Detroit. The first time my partner and I went in, we didn't know anybody and there was a sense of an established community. The Lex is a paradox. It looks like an exclusive venue. But people are nice. The bartender/owner fronts an Alice in Chains cover band that plays. He has a sense of humor. In honor of the late great Angela Lansbury he mixed up The Dirty Lansbury as an homage to her darker roles--manchurian vodka with a touch of pink for murder. Near the door you will find the same three online mortgage brokers every night. You can bring pizza or sushi from down the street.
