I wanted to like the Lone Goat. But it was not to be. The bartender was very full of himself and, while somewhat entertaining, not very concerned with actually serving customers. It took way too long to get a drink, twice, on a quiet Thursday night.

I ordered the bangers and mash. To be honest it was good but the name is misleading. It should be banger and mash. One smallish sausage with a dollop of mashed potatoes and some gravy, served on an appetizer plate for $20 is outrageous. Unfortunately I didn’t take a picture until after I consumed all four bites of my meal.

My friends had the shepard’s pie with a similar result. Decent flavor but not nearly enough for a hearty meal.

On the plus side the ambience was nice and it wasn’t too loud. I understand a meal is $20 today, I just couldn’t get past the minuscule serving size.

Zach is the man. Best drinks i’ve had in Detroit and the food was great. Highly recommend.

Loved the Fish and Chips and the Chop Wedge. The Old Speckled Hen on tap is also good!

Played a game where I took a shot every time the bartender walked by without serving us (wasn't busy). I'd say I took 10 shots, but I couldn't get one.

Can’t speak on the food because we were never approached upon entering. Sat down at the bar and servers walked by a number of times without acknowledging us. It was a Tuesday and they were not busy. Sat for about ten minutes waiting and watching the tigers game and no one ever approached us. Walked out without anyone saying a word. Looked like a cool place but poor service unfortunately.

We had the Haddock Chowder before the ballgame today. Nice spice heat. Great way to start our pre-game activities. Angie is attentive and a positive spirit. Not our first time here. Not our last.

Very empty due to it being a Sunday but a cozy pub that looks and feels like a true pub from England/Ireland. They poured a proper pint and even had Taytos!

Very cool and causal vibe in a classic pub with a lot of character. Great for pregames. Solid cocktails and beer selection. The upstairs is very cool.

Unfortunately we were not impressed - no greeting from any staff member upon arrival,.
I was eager to try some fish-n-chips, and the food was not very good. The fish was overcooked, hard crunchy outside , not a very pleasant coating on the fish, the fries were plentiful serving but small in size, not like (chips) One would expect from UK style pub.
Drinks were so-so and no one from staff checked on us after serving food. Food needs improvement as well as the service -my opinion.

I only gave the food 3 stars because it's English pub food and that's the max English pub food can ever be. Therefore, it's technically max stars.

I wish they had merch.

We had an amazing time at The Lone Goat! We met some fantastic new friends at the bar and had the best service from Donald and his crew. I highly recommend this restaurant on your next visit to downtown Detroit. The food, drinks and the service are all 5 Stars! We will definitely be back. Thank you again Donald for a wonderful evening.
