Went in for some food and drinks yesterday before the post Malone concert. Waited over 45 mins maybe longer for our food yet it was only two wraps a salad and chicken sandwhich and it was barely even busy? And when the salad came barely had anything Caesar on it and waited 10 mins to get another small little cup of it? Drinks were fine those actually came quick since we were seated next to the bar. The Old Shillelagh is Detroit's #1 Irish Pub Since 1975, offering a mix of experiences. It is described as outstanding, legendary, da bomb, and life changing—a place where happiness was a place, luminous, and heaven on Earth. Many fond memories involve spending time upstairs with the Black Mist on New Year's Eve, St. Patrick's Day, and birthdays, considered the best of times. However, a visit on St. Paddy's Day brought disappointment: a $20 charge to get in for lunch, with no Irish music or Irish coffee. Food is average; the Burger had good flavor, juicy and perfectly cooked, but the fries were severing dried out, and the Chicken Wrap was horrible, closed like a quesadilla with an old, split tortilla. Drinks, both beer and mixed, were really good, and the staff was great. Danielle and Anissa are wonderful bar tenders and servers, providing great service and talk therapy, ensuring no glass is empty. Overall, very glad to go, but won't be planning another visit.
