The belt in general is a nice experience. Unfortunately the skip has gone downhill. The bartenders have a terrible attitude and are very unhelpful. Used to like coming here but I'd recommend the standby or mootz instead.

I went to The Skip in Detroit for an AfroFuture event and had such a good time. The DJ was a vibe and the crowd matched the energy all night. The space felt fun, the music was on point, and the atmosphere made it easy to just enjoy and connect. Definitely a spot I’d go back to.

Fun Christmas pop up! We enjoyed our festive tiki drinks and really got us in the Christmas spirit.
It was my first trip to Detroit and happy to have found such a gem! Great service, creative drinks and overall fun vibe!!!
Drinks are horrible, go to standby right next door. Same price and taste 5x better.
Automatic gratuity added to bill for 2 people is strange. Usually a 25% tipper but since you add 17% automatic that’s what you get 🤷🏻♂️

For 3 years I have come to The Skip to get a Surfin' Santa Mug. I was told they were sold out AGAIN. He said I could buy a used one, but when I went to the bar to ask for the overpriced price mug, I was told no. I will not be returning for the expensive drinks and bringing my friends along again. My drink tasted fine, but completely full of ice, as you can see by the pic with the drink completely gone. Our drinks were not consistent either. Some were full, others low with different garnishes. With added gratuituly and tax, it was basically an $18 slow sipping shot. Disappointed, and 3 strikes...I'm out!!!

Skip right over this establishment! The waitstaff and bartenders are very rude. Told us they didn’t want people over age 40 there regardless of how much money they had to spend. Terrible experience!

The Skip is a fun, quaint bar, located in “the belt” area downtown, right across from Mootz pizza! Tropical vibe mixed with their Christmas pop up right now is such a cozy spot for drinks and small bites! It’s a popular spot, so be prepared to wait, but the line moved quickly. Despite the busyness, our server was friendly and attentive! Love the lights and decor, and my favorite drink was the Blue Christmas!
