My family and ai stumbled on The Upright. We have made this our weekend spot!
The service is the highlight of the visit. The staff members are attentive, and friendly, ensuring that every guest feels welcomed. They take the time to The craftsmanship behind each cocktail is evident, with bartenders paying close attention to the balance of flavors, presentation, and creativity. From classic concoctions to innovative new mixes, the drinks are made with premium ingredients, often incorporating unique garnishes. Recommend stopping in and checking it out for yourself!

2 stars only for the atmosphere. I was really excited about this place and have been wanting to go for a while but in the end it was a let down. The atmosphere is a total vibe and super cute but it took 30 mins to get my group drinks and we were the first people to be seated before people even started showing up. Gracie served us our drinks and never came back to see if we were okay or if we wanted something else. There was no enthusiasm from her but I tried to relate that okay I get it she was at work. We had to ask for our bill she did come back quickly to give us that. She put it all on one tab and my guest at my table asked if we could have separate bills and she proceeded to tell us normally she doesn’t do that but since she has time I guess I can do it in a dreadful way. Everyone felt a certain way after her saying that. The ambiance was cute but the pricey drinks were just okay. I may or not come back but any time soon.

This was the best speakeasy I have been to in awhile. The ambiance, the service, and the drinks were all.five star. It set the tone for Valentine's Day and any date night.Kudos to the entire staff in that establishment but especially the lead bartender and her Hot Toddy creation with Hennessy. We had the pleasure of sitting next to the Hennessy distributor for Michigan who, happened to be there who gave her such great compliments. Him and his wife were such amazing souls!! Great overall experience!

My favorite martini is here, love both the 70s version Love to Love You Baby and the standard dirty martini. ???

The cocktails were very good and unique. Not the basic old fashioned with a fancy name slapped on it. These cocktails seemed much more creative. Speakeasy, cozy vibes.
Parking: Free parking on site with mobile security in the gated lot.

Quiet spot to get a great drink after eating at oak and reel. We had the Upright Affogato - espresso martini with gelato. They were great, staff were very kind, and the place is artfully put together.

The Oak and Reel speakeasy nestled downstairs. There are no reservations, so plan accordingly. Service is what we have come to know and love from Oak and Reel. The cocktails are truly great and made with fine ingredients. There are food options, but the menu is very brief. Vibe is low-key, but of course certain visitors can be inappropriately vocal on occasion. If you are feeling rambunctious, this isn't the right bar for your mood.If you are seeking a warm chocolate chip cookie to go with your libations, you are in luck.
I felt very much like VIP going here! It was hidden in the basement of Oak & Reel. Not a lot of space, so perfect for date night. Strong well made drinks! Very personable staff! They offer small plates but we were too full from upstairs to eat! Ambiance is like time traveling to a jazz bar in the Black Bottom.
Sexy speakeasy’s are now a thing in Detroit. This bar is very sexy looking with good drinks. The staff was the best! So attentive! We had one cheese/ bread appetizer and it was good. Parking was easy and you are safe. Get out and explore places like this bring friends. I recommend you stop by for the experience!
Nice bar. Small, cozy, strong drinks. I only had 2drinks & was losing my focus. Lol! The first drink was very sweet to me. Pina Verde. The other drink was perfect. The staff was friendly & vibe spot on.
