The Whitney Reviews
I have gone to the Whitney every year for Christmas dinner. It was annual holidays to celebrate with my nieces. Last Christmas holiday we chose to take the buffet. I was extremely disappointed. All I wanted was prime rib. The server was not very friendly. She stared at me and I was very uncomfortable when I asked for the prime rib only. There was just a small end piece and she gave me a very thin slice close resembling lunch meat. I don’t understand since I paid for a complete...read full review
I took my girlfriend for a special birthday dinner and drinks. The ambience and service was good. Unfortunately, the meals were underwhelming. The seafood risotto included two medium sized shrimp, two mussels and a lobster claw with lots of risotto. My girlfriend ordered the steak medium and slightly pink. It came well done. It was sent back and the replacement was very rare. At that point, we decided to eat as the seafood dish had become cold. They did provide a free...read full review
was very disappointed when my son took us there recently for my birthday dinner. He had to put down a 40 dollar deposit to reserve 4 seats at 7pm. We were finally sat at 8:15. The Whitney offers a beautiful atmosphere, perfect for special occasions such as birthdays and anniversaries. The architecture and ambiance are amazing, making guests feel welcome and splendid. The restaurant is housed in a historic mansion that feels grand without being stuffy, with intricate details and art in every corner. The elegant dining rooms, complete with stained glass, help create a sense of a special occasion. Guests often enjoy touring the mansion, which adds to the unique ambiance and provides a complimentary historical tour during dinner. The food is outstanding, with dishes like Beef Wellington and filet being particularly delicious. The filet mignon is perfectly tender, and the beef Wellington is a must-try. The menu also features a 3-course meal with options like filet mignon, caesar salad, and crostini, complemented by house champagne for toasts. The food is very homey, especially the pork osso bucco, and some dishes like the seafood mix may not meet everyone's expectations. The service is friendly, kind, and attentive, with staff going above and beyond to make the evening special. The Ghost Bar is also worth a visit, and the restaurant’s pianos on every floor, along with lightning-fast valet parking, add to the relaxing and elegant atmosphere. Guests often enjoy the lovely courtyard and the decadent tea service, which transports visitors into a regal world for an afternoon. During special events like the tree lighting, visitors can enjoy complimentary champagne and cookies around a fire outside, making the experience even more memorable. The live pianist during dinner adds a soothing touch, making The Whitney a truly unforgettable place to dine.
