Okay y’all want details ? The bald older gentlemen with the big belly with the patios accent was too busy flirting with me and asking about ā€œmy manā€ ( I am 23) and being nasty and mean to the lovely lady making the actual plate whom I assume is his wife ? To get the order accurate…. food wise everything was VERY greasy and lacking seasoning. The older woman on the other hand was kind and patient. No disrespect to anyone and peace be unto you all. šŸŖ¬šŸ™šŸ¾šŸ•‰ļø

I just ordered a jerk chicken dinner from this establishment through Uber eats. It was a first time promotional and I thought I’d try Topey’s Jamaican food, especially since they advertised ā€œBoston style jerk chickenā€. I had heard mixed reviews about this place. Most people said it wasn’t good. It had a 3.7 rating but I tried it anyway. I’ve been to Jamaica and I also lived in Brooklyn near Easton Parkway where there is a plethora of Caribbean restaurants. I have never had jerk like this …BLAND There was no seasoning. It was not grilled on pimento wood, No scotch bonnet, no Flavor or heat, and no allspice. I don’t know what this was. The rice was overcooked and mushy. The cabbage was mixed with corn, which was ok, but it was salty and overcooked .
The plantains however were delicious.
I was really disappointed because I really wanted some good jerk chicken, rice and peas, and cabbage. I had ordered a jerk chicken dinner from another food establishment on Saturday and was disappointed as well. This
food was just off for me. I’ll keep on looking in the meantime I don’t think I’ll be ordering from them Topeys again.

The owner is one of the nicest owners I've met and the food was good but I couldn't finish it from the size but on vacation from Sydney now I know how authentic Jamaican food tastes

Omg where do I start?
The service was absolutely amazing! I felt like my family was making me a plate at a reunion. I live all the way and in Clinton twp and had to try this restaurant while I was on the west side. I will be driving back cause it is absolutely AMAZING

Literally the best and most tender oxtails I’ve ever had. Service was phenomenal. Very fast and friendly. The girl taking orders was amazing. Let me sample the juices and even recommended me mixing 2 which was super refreshing. I assume the guy was Topey, he was very friendly and personal with his customers. Very amazing cook. Just sad they were out of the cabbage. The only complaint I have is the beef patty seemed that it been there for a while. The filling was extremely dried out. I know they don’t make them homemade so it wasn’t their fault just was a little too old for me. Definitely will be back:

I was overcharged nearly $14 because I ordered based off of the menu posted online, that shows stew chicken as $13, but they decided to charge me whatever prices they have in store for an ā€œextra large dinnerā€. I didn’t even know they had a large or extra large option because she did not ask me when I placed the order over the phone. Additionally I was told that pricing was for ā€œlunchā€ but the online menu says no such thing. Very deceiving however unfortunately it’s my fault I didn’t catch that while I was in the store. Your online menu pricing needs to be updated so that you don’t mislead another customer.

The stew chicken and rice was very bland. Like BLAND. None of the bold flavors ive come to expect from Jamaican Cuisine. How they screw up plantains? I would not recommend. There's too many better options.
