Found a delicious vanilla latte; plus the dirty chai was super strong and had a unique spiced flavor. The chocolate chip cookie was excellent, soft but with crispy edges, just like I like it, and the yummy chocolate bites mmm so sweet. The eggy breakfast sandwich was perfect on a fluffy savory biscuit. It had an interesting cream cheese spread mixed in making the eggs nice and creamy and the pickle slices made for a nice surprise. I do wish we got a bit more of the side salad because I enjoy my greens! The neighborhood doesn't seem like the safest, but it was still great to stop by this chill spot by chance during our visit to Detroit!

cool little spot tucked in between some little shops off of eastern market. if you're looking for somewhere fun and different to meet a friend, i'd definitely recommend. if you're looking to get laptop work done or get a treat, i'm not sure -- back in the day they had warda pastries which was a draw in and of itself but now they just have strange little veggie flatbread type stuff. the coffee is fine, not mindblowing, and IMO the menu could use some work especially given all the nearby food options, but i do appreciate a space that isn't just a carbon copy of everywhere else in town. have only been during the day but IIRC they used to have live concerts sometimes which looked cool

This is probably my favorite coffee shop in Detroit. They're in a great location, right next to Eastern market, so it's a solid place to go to over the weekend while strolling the market. They're also a great place to work from, as there's plenty of space and it's not too loud. I love the dirty chai, but I think the main standout is the food. They have a great selection of pastries and sandwiches that I think are far superior to what you find in most coffee shops. They're also connected to a plant and vinyl shop, and I haven't been, but it looks like they do local music shows as well. They also have really interesting and fun dishware. The vibes are more industrial and it's a huge space, so I really like the setup. The staff is super friendly. The only callout I would make is to be sure to look up the hours before going because they are closed or hosting events sometimes.

Great location! Interesting acts, eclectic bookstore, fantastic midday menu and great drink offerings. A highlight in Detroit!

always someone helpful taking my order, my food is fresh, the menu is seasonal, and an almond cardamom chai will forever be my comfort drink. idc if it’s just milk and syrup! also, the butternut squash galette cannot be missed.the only thing i would do differently is add some comfier seating. the chairs, while being perfect for the space and productivity, are a little tough to make work for reading or sticking around a while.otherwise, there’s a collection of books you can read during your time there, and the attached record shop is work a look. could definitely spend some time here.Parking: it’s behind the building. there’s a side street parallel to gratiot starting at russel that will take you there. it’s a cobblestone road.

Stumbled on this gem on google and I was not disappointed! They have this vegan pizza that’s delicious. The coffee is just ok. There is a record shop next door and they keep the attached door open as they play records from the shop themselves. Great workspace for students or WFH individuals. Nice place to catch up with a friend. Will definitely be frequenting this place when I can.

My wife and I were at at the eastern market around 11 AM. All the usual eating spots in the market had lines outside. She has to go to restroom. We hopped in the car left the market. I saw the sign and open door on this place. Made a right off of Gratiot on to a brick alley. Follow it around back. I found a parking lot and an open back door. Wife answered the call. I ordered food and coffee. She had a pour over decaf and I had a regular coffee. She has the breakfast sandwich and I had the breakfast taco. Everything was 5 star. Nice place to hang out or meet up with a group.

FYI - there is no wifi here. Tasty food, but found it a hard environment to work in.

Fantastic staff and the most delicious vegan sandwiches and desserts.

One of the operators moved me off of a small standalone table to a crowded communal table after I was already seated, but did not specify why. Somebody then took the same table, five minutes later, but was not moved. I don't understand why I was disallowed to sit at an open table, but this ruined my experience. Leek soup was very good, latte was poorly steamed and served in an oddly shaped mug, which was difficult to drink from.

My favorite coffee shop in Detroit! The food is amazing and I love how the menu is always changing. My favorite breakfast sandwich around is their egg and biscuit sandwich! Atmosphere is great and the coffee is amazing.
