Food was ok. Definitely not worth the $. Service was slow. But enjoyed time with friends.

A bit of a hidden gem in the lobby of the Westin at DTW. The food and service were both great, and the menu has a wide variety of meat, fish, vegetarian, and vegan choices. The large, tranquil water feature and high ceiling make for a very nice setting.

The chorizo hash with over medium eggs was delicious. My compliments to the chef Lovell. I admit I was nervous to mention that the first eggs were over hard. An easy oversight with a dish like this. But the new eggs were cooked right away and they were perfect. It complimented the meal the way I had hoped. The waiter Carl was very professional and attentive. He went as far as to apologize which was a nice gesture and not needed. The atmosphere was excellent. I am a traveler with a layover and was dreading sitting in the airport or at a bar waiting. I am so happy I found this place and I highly recommend stopping here whether you are staying at the hotel or traveling through. You do have to exit and re-enter theough a security check point. But the agent made it seem very easy.

You never know what you’ll get at an airport hotel. This place exceeded expectation’s- the food was excellent and the service was friendly and fast.

The food was great service not so much. The host asked us if we wanted to sit in the bar or restaurant. We chose the restaurant apparently that is not where he wanted to seat us. He rolled his eyes and took the menus in a huff to seat us. Waiter initially was great suggested the lamb meatballs with the lime shrimp we had ordered. Brought us our meal then asked us a litter bit later how things were. Told him the food was great. Then he was gone! We waited probably 15 minutes for our bill aftet we were done eating. They were not busy at all. Totally understand if they were busy.

The service was great. The front of house staff members were friendly and professional. But the food was disappointing. I had higher expectations for a restaurant in a 4-star hotel. My steak was overcooked and didn’t have a lot of flavor. The vegetables were under seasoned. For a $50+ meal, it was not impressive.
My server, Martin, was very kind and accommodating when I asked to have my meal replaced with something else. I got a Caesar salad with salmon and it was okay. Overall a fine experience, but not worth the price.
Server and food was alright, but like another review said, the male host was extremely disrespectful. Waited in line and when we were next up, he rolled his eyes at me while looking irritated and gestured us to follow him without saying a single word to us. Just like the other review said, I believe this may be coming from a place of racial discrimination, as I am of the same background as that reviewer who also had a very bad experience with this host. When I looked at how he treated the other customers, it was completely different.

The food was great, especially the seared salmon, which was juicy and flavorful. Hats off to the chef and their team!
But we had such a bad experience at the reception. The guy who worked there apparently needed to change his attitude. Showing impatience and hostility is never how you should treat your customers. We arrived through the entrance close to the elevators, and as we were about to walk through the dining area towards the reception desk, the guy standing behind it immediately put on a talk-to-the-hand gesture ✋and yelled at us “Stay there!” I didn’t expect that kind of response, because as far as I could tell, lots of guests did exactly the same as we did, and none of them were treated like this. Plus, none of them looked like the same ethnic group as we did, which left me even more curious what kind of rationale behind his unfriendly behavior.
So I decided to share what I thought with the manager on duty, who handled the situation professionally. She told me that she’d have a talk with him after we left. Not sure if they really did tho. Overall, our experience at this place was not as good as we expected, while only the food made it tolerable.

I was promptly guided to a table by the host, with no wait at all. To start, I had the tomato bisque, which was honestly the perfect consistency. I next ordered lamb meatballs and naan, but I will have to give the lamb a 4/5. To finish on a sweet note, I ordered the affogato, which was a banger! The waiter for the evening was quite attentive, and served each course at the perfect time. All in all, a very positive experience.

It's a Westin but not a really nice one..and the airport workers that run it and work there need training on how to dress for work . uniforms are sloppy and workers look unprofessional .it makes the Westin experience not so good at this location. 300.00 rooms . There are other choices close by and some nicer than Westin and not as much per night. Some under 200.00

I have dined here multiple times. I’m always happy with the service. I love the atmosphere here, it’s a large and beautiful atrium. The only menu item I would not recommend is the beef stroganoff, the sauce was over reduced and therefore tasted like a jar of beef bullion. The stroganoff beef was perfect and the spatzle was perfectly cooked. I LOVE their mushroom bisque. Their pretzels are yummy. I really enjoyed their curry. Their sweet potato fries are addictive!
Vegetarian options: They have a delicious curry and salad options for vegetarian choices.
