Zeff's Coney Island in Eastern Market

This is home. The heart of the Eastern Market since I was a little girl. This place and Mike's are pillars for Detroit classics. Service is always A1. My mom always gets their breakfast which they give ginormous portions and I either get a corned beef sandwich or a coney and chili cheese fries. They dont miss!

It was definitely a local favorite, open early, but wasn't the coney chili taste we were expecting.

Sadly the food was just “meh” and the service forgetful (had to ask 3 times nicely to get orange juice). The pastrami sandwich was lacking both oomph and cheese; the scrambled egg was a bit too hard, and the hash browns weren’t very brown. Maybe an off day. Oh and they charge extra $1 after 11am for breakfast. Why? It’s a friggin’ deli.

Classic coney island joint. Great breakfast menu and the service is loose but timely and friendly. I hope to try the hot dogs next time.

Average... But packed with locals.

This is my 1st time dining in at Zeff's Coney Island at the Eastern Market district since Mike's Coney Island restaurant is permanently closed since 12/31/19 sadly...😢 Their meals are off-the-chain!😋 Although, the place is a bit larger than Mike's, the experience is still the same, and I'm looking forward to dining here again! 5⭐'s for you! Keep up the excellent service!😎👍🏾

Zef's breakfast was excellent and it's my go-to for food in Eastern Market.

My first time back home in 4 yrs and this place taste like Detroit!!! Cured all my cravings!!! You won’t be disappointed!!

Zeff’s is a respectable Coney Island. Most of our meals on a Sunday Brunch on Lions game day were on point. Coneys always good. Bacon pitas were fair. Chicken Swarma was not as tasty as preferred. Stick with the classics is our opinion. Will likely go again as it is near Sunday Church.

Vegetarian options: They’ve got few vegetarian items. Greek Salad is good. Remember, it’s a Coney Island.

It's my favorite spot for breakfast and lunch. From the omelets, gyros, and the ranch dressing 😋. Everything is good and they treat you like family.

Absolutely the BEST New England Clam Chowder I've ever eaten in my life. I order 4 Quarts frozen each time I'm in Detroit now to bring home and enjoy a little piece of Heaven for a while. My mother loves it as a gift as well. Never had a bad meal here either. They are a must visit on every trip to Detroit. Just randomly stumbled upon them one cold winter day in Detroit, and I'll forever be grateful that I did. DO NOT PASS THEM UP! You'll regret it. Such a cute, homey cafe with amazing comfort foods.
