We were in the neighborhood for an event at Epiphany and were looking for a place to eat and have a drink before the show. We decided to try Zell's Corner based on the location and reviews, and I am so glad we did. The owners were very friendly and welcoming, the food was excellent, and the corner bar atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for. When we are in the vicinity again we will definitely be back for the food, cold beer and to say hello to our new friends.

Zell’s Corner is a neighborhood bar/restaurant located at Charlevoix and Seyburn. The ambiance is unique, as the interior has a nightclub vibe. Renovations are currently being done to the patio area. The corned beef egg rolls were absolutely delicious! The cheeses inside and sprinkled on top enhanced the overall flavor. So much so, the egg rolls didn’t even need a sauce for dipping. The burger and fries are worth getting, as well. I came here for lunch on a week day, but from what I’ve heard, it’s packed on Friday and Saturday nights.

Stopped by here after visiting a friend who lived a mile up the road. Me and my two friends were greeted by who I only can assume was the owner or at least one of the owners. Very friendly. The rest of the staff there was equally friendly. Food was simple but made with care and was top notch. Exactly what I was looking for.
Great local place that hopefully the community is supporting.

As far as I can see, not in business.
My father, Eddie Mesrey (born in Detroit | 1932–1980), grew up in the house that was once attached to Zell’s. He and his brother, George Mesrey (1930–1978), helped their uncle Michael Mesrey (born in Damascus, Syria | 1899–1993) run the little market that previously occupied this space (circa 1930s – 1960s).Back in the day it was known as Little Mike’s Market. Here’s my great-Uncle Mike and an unidentified E&B spokesmodel inside the market at Charlevoix and Seyburn, circa 1960.
We were staying down the street at an Air B&B while in town visiting for the 2024 New Year. We drove by on Friday night and the place looked packed. We enjoy checking out & supporting local businesses in the cities we visit, especially the corner markets or in this case the corner bar. Having grown up in rural America, this was my first real corner bar experience. I was bit apprehensive, but none-the-less, on Saturday evening, we decided to stop in for dinner and we're so glad we did. It was earlier in evening and the staff were all friendly and the owner sit and chatted with us and invited us back to party with them on New Year's eve.We had come to Detroit with no agenda for the holiday and with a friend who was itching to dance with strangers. Due to back issue, it was important to me that I had a seat. A table was availabIe and with much surprise to them, four random people from Kentucky were coming back to spend NYE with them. We had plans! It turned out to be a wonderful experience. The owner's story of how this spot came about is a heart-warming story of familia love and safety. It's a family business with the owner's spouse and brother working there as well.We owner, staff and local patrons were friendly and made sure we felt safe the entire time we were there. We sincerely appreciate the hospitality we were shown. We have memories from this trip and especially this business and experience that will be talked about for many years to come.SHOUTOUT: The DJ was spot on both evenings! [This is rare and hard to find in KY.]

We are from out of town, and found this place. The owner made us feel so welcome, we decided to come back the next night for the New Years party and had a blast. The food was tasty the drinks were great. I'd become a regular if this place was back home.

Great local spot for a bite to eat, in a building that looks like it would be perfect to rent out for a party or shower. Food was great and owner is very friendly.
