We ate dinner here two nights in a row while visiting the area. Great atmosphere, food and service! The daily specials are a great value!

Two meals were good and two were not good due to their rice. Wild rice tasted like latex. We don’t usually complain about food, but it was so bad that we needed to. A waitress said someone else said something too and they got us something different. Our waitress or the manager did not acknowledge the situation, even when she was told. Service was VERY slow and our waitress was not good, but the other one was. We will not be returning.

Loved this place so much we returned 3 nights in a row during a stay in Houghton, Michigan. Great food and friendly staff. Most accommodating of gluten-free. Clean, inviting, interesting. The best dish we had was the Filet Mignon - could eat this every day! Well worth the short drive up from Houghton.

Good food, french onion soup is specialty, and cheerful service, interior is a bit dark, the entry lobby has museum quality artifacts, save time to appreciate them

We are glad we went here. Great local restaurant and bar. The food was very good, staff was very friendly and the owner Bob was a great guy, Very smart/knowledgeable about the local area.

This was recommended to us by the tour guide at Quincy Smelting Tour. So glad we took her recommendation. They have lots of artifacts and information about the Quincy mine. The food was great - huge taco salad in warm tortilla shell, Italian steak sandwich and great fries. Service was also great!

Bar tenders are great the inside could use some work.

I can’t say the food is superb, but we had the best waitress here. She hustled between tables, making sure everyone was happy. As this was our first visit, she helped us make good beer choices from the local beers (this is the kind of place where if you get beer by the bottle they ask, “Do you want a glass”?), and an appetizer. We wanted to try the local whitefish, and she advised the best way to order it (lemon and pepper, not the Cajun, at least not for our tastes). The place was full of locals. At the table next to us there was a group of visiting business people, but casually dressed—this is not an upscale place. We loved the moose head on the wall (see the photo), but were so impressed with our waitress (I wish I knew her name), we gave her a 50% tip. I never do that. So: if you come here, you’ll be warmly welcomed, get decent food, local atmosphere, and leave full.

We make a point of visiting once a week but try not to visit on the same day each week. They have a different special and all of them are good. Of course fish on Friday but Italian, Mexican all kinds of stuff. Pizza is worth while too

Saturday night was prime rib night, so we had to try it. We got there early enough it wasn't crowded, so we got seated right away. Our server, Jeanette, was really on the ball and we had our drinks and order without a hitch.

If you stay until close you might need boxing gloves on occasion but super cool old town bar. Drinks are priced reasonably and cold!! Had a great time!! Pool table and darts available.
