“We tried The Forge for the first time and WOW, absolutely delicious!! We both had the Forge burger and I have to say it’s the best burger in the area! It had the right amount of char and crispiness on the edges yet with the perfect overall texture and juiciness! The right amount of grease and melted cheese on the wrapper where you immediately knew it was going to be so, so savory and yummy! Next time we’ll try the brisket and we cannot wait!”

“I stopped in just as they opened on a Monday and ordered a large pasty with meat. I also got a bran muffin and peanut butter cookie. The pasty was outstanding! The best combination/proportion of beef and vegetables I’ve ever had in a pasty. The crust was a great compliment. My vote for #1 in the UP!!! The muffin and cookie were also very good. I’ll definitely make the effort to stop whenever I’m in the area.”

“Best Detroit style pizza ever. Crispy cheese on the edges. Slightly chewy, very flavorful bread. Delicious with high quality and often locally sourced ingredients? I'm not sure how they pull it off. They have the most creative and surprising specials every week. Their toppings have singlehandedly introduced to me many new culinary delights that I didn't even know EXISTED until I had them on one of these specials. Their standard pizzas are incredible to boot.”

“I have stayed at Top of the Pub and visited the South Range Pub on several occasions, and the place is fresh, new with lots of amenities, especially on one of the top trails in the UP. The Pub is nostalgic with lots of traditional games - darts, pool, shuffleboard.”

They have friendly staff, a wide selection of specialty and homemade coffees and drinks, a variety of bakery items, comfortable temperatures, classy music, and incredible prices!!! My large 20oz Cafe Au Lait with almond milk was steamed to perfection and paired wonderfully with their Chocolate Almond brewed coffee of the day. I even got a free refill with their Papua New Guinea flavor, all for the price of $4.24! “Our go-to breakfast spot in the valley. We live in Tamarack City, so location cannot be beat. Every time is amazing, though. Pancakes, omlettes, or our favorite, corned beef hash and eggs (extra cripsy!).

Beyond the food, you cannot beat the setting here. Great photos and some entertaining signs (even in the bathroom). It feels like the embodiment of a Cozy Yooper breakfast.”
