I was looking for a legit place to buy a pasty for our picnic Keweenaw tour today. Having grown up in the UP I’m fairly particular. Toni’s makes a legit pasty, flavorful, big, meaty and very filling.
The sign of a good restaurant is one that is packed with local folks. This proved to be true in our visit to Toni's. Almost every seat was taken, but there was just enough room for our family. We enjoyed a variety of sandwiches, but the draw had been the pasties. They did not disappoint! A perfect blend of comfort-food ingredients in a wonderful crust. What a great place to eat! My wife and I ordered breakfast for dinner. She had the cinnamon French toast with bacon and I had full stack of pancakes with sausage links.The service was above board. Ella was a whirlwind. She was the only one taking orders and clearing tables and did it with a smile. Great attitude and love the old time diner atmosphere. Will be returning in the near future.
