If you're in the area, this is the place for a great "homecooked" local cafe breakfast. Had eggs and hash with a pancake. My wife had biscuits and gravy (delicious). Portions were perfect, and prices were excellent (under $10 per person is reasonable). Highly recommended!
I visited Candies on a warm July weekend for breakfast. I found the interior to be very basic and homey. The decor was very 1970's Michigan, with lots of art showing the copper country of a bygone era, mixed in with some handiwork of the owner, all layed out on basic pine wood walls. Great "Mom and Pop" restaurant with delicious food! Best breakfast out we've had in a very, very long time!! We had the corn beef hash (came with 3!!eggs) and sourdough toast, a HUGE homestyle pancake, homemade biscuits and gravy with fluffy scrambled eggs and yummy, smokey bacon. Homey, small town vibe with friendly staff. Extra large portions, with amazing prices. Cash only, so come prepared.
