“I have stayed at Top of the Pub and visited the South Range Pub on several occasions, and the place is fresh, new with lots of amenities, especially on one of the top trails in the UP. The Pub is nostalgic with lots of traditional games - darts, pool, shuffleboard.”

“The customers are not very welcoming, but the workers are. Got one drink and it was very cheap. Food smelt and looked amazing, but I never ended up having any.

It's a good environment for a sit down bar with lots of space. Not a party bar.

Parking: There is a lot of free parking and food handicap parking on the side of the building.”

“We tried The Forge for the first time and WOW, absolutely delicious!! We both had the Forge burger and I have to say it’s the best burger in the area! It had the right amount of char and crispiness on the edges yet with the perfect overall texture and juiciness! The right amount of grease and melted cheese on the wrapper where you immediately knew it was going to be so, so savory and yummy! Next time we’ll try the brisket and we cannot wait!”

“I stopped in just as they opened on a Monday and ordered a large pasty with meat. I also got a bran muffin and peanut butter cookie. The pasty was outstanding! The best combination/proportion of beef and vegetables I’ve ever had in a pasty. The crust was a great compliment. My vote for #1 in the UP!!! The muffin and cookie were also very good. I’ll definitely make the effort to stop whenever I’m in the area.”

“On Wednesday August 6, 2025, approximately 20 people ate brunch after a brief Memorial Service. The "Mosquito Inn" passed with flying colors. In othervwords they have a great menu, and the food was delicious, according to all the attendees. Keep up the good work and great service! We will be back!”

“Best Detroit style pizza ever. Crispy cheese on the edges. Slightly chewy, very flavorful bread. Delicious with high quality and often locally sourced ingredients? I'm not sure how they pull it off. They have the most creative and surprising specials every week. Their toppings have singlehandedly introduced to me many new culinary delights that I didn't even know EXISTED until I had them on one of these specials. Their standard pizzas are incredible to boot.”

“I had been excited to dine here since the new ownership and I was finally able to this evening. I was ABSOLUTELY impressed! Not only with the gorgeous space, but the service was beyond amazing! I came here tonight for a first date. I was pretty nervous as I am new to dating and was not sure what to expect. I had a great conversation at the bar with one of the bartenders (maybe owner?). I was early for the date and had time to tell her about my nervousness and we had a great conversation! It definitely put me at ease. All of the food that was brought out, not only to me and my date, but also other patrons, were beautifully plated. We got the charcuterie board that was quite impressive. I will definitely be back to try several more dishes on the menu. I highly recommend a visit!”

Our server/bartender yesterday was great(wanted to give him a shoutout but can’t remember the name, he had longer hair and was very personable!) I had the grilled cheese with bacon jam, I don’t usually eat meat but the bacon jam was DELISH. My boyfriend had a great smash burger. 11/10 we will be returning.”
