I would leave -10 stars if possible. This company had 2 other tap rooms, one in k-zoo and one in GR and both were closed same day with different stories…very unlikely. The biggest issue I have with this business is that they closed their event space without notice. So many people had that space reserved for weddings, parties, etc. this was closed WITHOUT notice and legit no call or notice to folks that had a deposit down. They also left employees jobless without warning. Honestly, any company that would do something like this is dishonest and scum! Don’t support this place, because they do NOT have your back in return.
TLDR; spend your hard earned money somewhere who actually supports their community.
Honestly it's hard to support a place that behaves irrational when it comes to closing two out of three of their tap rooms. Not informing employees at all ( no email, no shift message), they had to find out from a Facebook post that was likely written with AI. Leaving people confused and surprised at their new found unemployment.
Michigan has so many local breweries that do not treat their employees or the general public the way saugatuck brewing does.
Times are tough, that's for sure but it wouldn't have cost them anything to do the closure the right away. Spend your money at a place who cares.
Thanks Saugatuck brewing for closing the Creston taproom without notice and now I’m jobless along with all of my other coworkers. (two coworkers having just undergone intensive medical hardships including stroke and breast cancer) No warning or compensation while we all try to find new jobs while you get to keep getting richer. Nice one, karma will get you.
ceo and team is completely clueless on how to run a business. was incredibly hands off to a point where it became very evident in day to day business. they are 100% about selling a brand/product, but they are so far removed from the process that they are hemorrhaging money and resources. i would not support this beer company, they arent in it for the brew, or the community, (not sure why one would get into this kinda work without prior experience as the margin are so competitive for breweries and restaurants alike).
closed all his locations except his saugatuck flag ship location. gave no warning to staff, there was no time for any of them to get things in order, a behavioral demonstration that he does not care about the well being of his employees. the news stations had more heads up than the staff when he closed the tap rooms. told staff not to steal things on their way out... just really tasteless, much like the beer they peddle. 0/10 would not recommend
The beer here is the flattest most boring tasting thing I’ve had in awhile. They charge too much. Also Creston hates you.
They took a $625 deposit to reserve Golden Age at Creston and then closed the business. I have not been able to get into contact with ANYONE from this business. I have not received a refund. I was never even told. What a horrible thing to do to a couple 5 MONTHS BEFORE THEIR WEDDING. I had just ordered $600 invites with the name of the venue on it. We had vendors, room blocks, decor EVERYTHING lined up.
Closed and didnt tell their employees or customers who had events lined up. Just pulled the rug out from under them. They don't care about them or you
One thing your owners do not have is a spine. To close a location I can understand if you truly are losing money. To not notify your employees in time is weak at best. Yes, it may be common in the industry but it's highly unfair. I'm pretty sure you're expecting comments like this and likely don't care. At least we know who's beer not to buy.
This company is NOT socially conscious and has completely let down long tome employees. Wish I could give 0 stars
This so called "socially responsible" brewery closed its Grand Rapids location abruptly. Employees found out by Facebook post. THIS IS NOT SOCIALLY RESPONSIBLE.

Even though we're 2 1/2 hours away, this is in our regular rotation. Great beer, one of the best burgers anywhere, and good service. My wife is a huge fan of their Blueberry Lemonade Shandy, and we've never had a bad meal here. Love the patio, also.
Bummed that this place isn’t dog friendly. Had seen elsewhere that it is, but those reports were incorrect.
Food was good
Food was good, service was good, beer was good
Try their Tacos those were delicious, the pretzel with beer cheese, the fish special all very good. The Mac and cheese was a little tasteless to me not enough cheese flavor. Service was great kept coming back and asking if we needed anything and refills. I definitely would recommend.
