I get a text at 530 on a Friday - the day before we are supposed to cruise that said the boat wasn’t working and they were canceling us. This was for a bachelorette party, and we were supposed to be there at 1030 the next morning. I was super disappointed in the way they handled things, not even a phone call. And then when I tried to reach them, no one answered. And Still waiting for my refund.

I purchased a Groupon for them on August 6th after reviewing available times on their website. After the Groupon purchase, I opened the voucher, and went to book on their website with a time they claimed they had available and I got an error code of “invalid code” after putting it in manually and also copying and pasting. I went down to their office address, there is not one, and no one was at the boat. I only got a hold of someone with the company after a competitive boat rental place called them. Through conversation, the rep, Sam, said that he was not available to take anyone out for the day, this was not his full time job and he “might” have times tomorrow. I asked him about my Groupon code not working on their website, and he said, “Yeah, for some reason they don’t work on your end on our website.” I had to wait for a text back on his availability. We tried to be flexible with times as we wanted to use the already paid for Groupon and agreed to a departure time of 3pm the next day, 8/7. My group and I arrived at 2:30 and waited. At 3pm, Sam called and said he wasn’t coming. He said he forgot to tell us that we needed to still book on the website and pay additional ($414) and that he would refund the difference of the Groupon. I was already in $289 and wasn’t about to give them anymore money. The text exchange the day before wasn’t enough to book it. He said he could be down to the boat at 5pm to take us out. Due to this being a vacation for my family and I, we had other things planned. We had already made dinner reservations. At this point, I had enough of their issues and excuses. Later, I spoke to a police officer and DNR and apparently they are under investigation for illegal business practices and the Coast Guard is looking into them as well. They have been pulled over multiple times and are fully aware they are operating illegally. Learn from my lesson, save yourself the money and headache. Next stop, Better Business Bureau.

We were excited to find this private party experience for our two families but it turned out to be completely disappointing. First, we had a 7pm slot and when we arrived at 6:55, the boat was a dirty mess. During this time with a concern of the Covid spread, this experience completely lacked any safety protocols and we did not feel comfortable at all. Popcorn and garbage was left from the party who had just gotten off the boat (the 5pm group). We asked if the driver could wipe the counters where we would be sitting and he told us there was no sanitizer or cleaners! He actually took a rag and dipped it in the lake to wipe the counters!! We sprayed our own hand sanitizer on the counters to try and sanitizer the area. It was gross and we were hesitant to touch anything during the whole ride. Sam, the college aged kid who drove the boat did not have any info to share during the pedal boat experience. We were thinking we would have a tour guide who would have info and interact with the group about the boat trip. Instead, he said he didn’t know about anything to talk about. The whole thing was terrible and was very expensive to have such a low level, unacceptable experience. We do not recommend this pedal boat experience at all!

Don’t waste your money!! The boat was dirty, a lot of things broken on it and they do not clean or sanitize anything between groups. The $$ they charge is not worth what you get at all!!

We finally got ahold of him and he said he wasn’t told he was supposed to be there (which was a lie). He then showed up at 9 and we were pulled over by DNR at 9:30 and forced to go back because they couldn’t provide proof of registration. Our captain Sam “forgot” to mention he had gotten pulled over by the same cops YESTERDAY. When we got back the cop who pulled us over informed us that they have pulled them over multiple times and they are fully aware that they are doing this illegally and on a watch list. We tried to confront Sam after talking to the cops and he ran to his car and left the property. We talked to Redmond, the owner, the next day and he was very nice about giving us a full refund and apologized many times. Although at the time, it was very inconvenient, while on the boat it was a lot of fun! Would give them service again if they fix this issue.

The driver Sam was awesome. Just wish you got more time than about two hours when you spend close to 600 dollars. Id rather rent a boat with my friends next time and have it the whole day for the same price.

I had a corporate team outing lined up weeks in advance. At 2:30 AM the night before our event, I received a text message saying that they had an issue with the coast guard and may not be able to keep our reservation. So, you didn't know this at least a day or two before?! They offered to process a refund, which I'd expect to be their minimum offering to fix the situation. I had to frantically call other boat rentals in town and line up a Plan B. I never heard from them until well after our event was supposed to start. They did provide a refund. I would never suggest this business.

Arrived to stated location on website and email 30 minutes early to find out 2 minutes before schedule departure (after WE called the captain) that the location was incorrect. He and his coworker knew the location on website and email were incorrect but never called to notify our group. We were then pulled over by the sheriff and coast guard to find out the registration had been expired and they notified the owner one year prior. They were forced to end our trip over an hour early. No refund issued.

This was a blast!!. A friend arranged this trip for a group of friends (thank you Kim). The peddle boat has a roof but it can be rolled up completely for sun or on just one side if some want shade. There was plenty of room for our coolers and snacks. Now the great part- there is an engine in case everyone gets tired of peddling. There is also a bench seat in the back if you don t care to sit on a bicycle seat. We went out thru the channel past Saugatuck to Lake Michigan then turned around for the return trip. There was a short bathroom break on the way back at a little park. Great music and the captain was very infomative about some of the buidlings and bars along the way.

Not the same boat as last year. Nor the same owner running it. Hope the new guy running it, is legal and has talked with the Coast Guard and has passed inspection. (I doubt it) Not trying to talk down to this this business but the website is giving a false promise on what boat you really are getting on. Safety first!
