Customer service is beyond amazing, as well as the food every time! Portions are always huge, eat half and there is still a whole meal. The egg rolls are the stuffed and the best around! This has been my family's favorite Chinese restaurant for years. No place else compares for the quality and portions of food, and the price!

We went to Great Wok and had ordered our favorites, the sesame chicken was so tastey and the egg rolls are my favorite and the veggies are all great too but if you want some thing with a little kick they have one dish really spicy! Hopefully you can make your way there soon, they do take out! 😋 They are really fast and ready to take your order smoothly. Also there is a nice looking pond

You can split a dash. They don't have the help so much anymore so a lot of it is take out only but in order is enough for two people. And they are the friendliest people

Our family tried the wonton soup, garlic ginger chicken, General Tso’s chicken, and Szechuan chicken. The food was very good, flavorful and generous portions! Service was excellent! Will be returning!

Take out only. The lady behind the counter was so kind. She had good suggestions and was very courteous. She even brought our order out to our car for us while we waited.

I have now visited Great Wok on 3 separate occasions, and I have been more and more impressed on each visit. In summary, you cannot go wrong grabbing a meal at this restaurant!
On my first visit, I had the Sweet & Sour Chicken; the chicken was small/popcorn-style bites, and the sauce was given in a container on the side. On my second visit, I had the Almond Chicken; the chicken this time was the classic cut fillet style, and the sauce was given in a container on the side. On my third (most recent) visit, I had the Orange Chicken; the chicken here is larger chunks, and the sauce is mixed in as part of cooking. I enjoyed all three, but so far the Orange Chicken is the winner for me (the sauce is amazing, and it's nice to be able to just start eating without having to pour/dip sauce).
They have a very large menu, with what I find to be quite fair prices in 2024. I recommend the "Special Combination" for the best deal; where they also let you pick between egg roll, drink, etc. as your complementary side. The portions on these are very large, so it's safe to come hungry. They have lunch-size/discounted versions of all the dinner-size/full combinations; you probably get about 25%-30% less food, but the price is equally reduced, so it makes sense if you go during lunch hours, and don't want to eat too much or deal with leftovers.
The service has been very good. On each visit, I have ordered at the counter (versus phoning it in). It's still super fast to get your food. I've only waited about 4-7 minutes each time. If you're ordering some $50+ order, I would say you should phone it in, but otherwise you don't really need to worry.
They seem to pack everything very securely. The containers are Styrofoam, so they will keep your food hot for a good amount of time. They throw in soy sauce, plum sauce, hot mustard, and at least one fortune cookie with each order.
Many other reviews have mentioned the permanent removal of the dine-in option. I think it would be nice to have it back, but I can understand why they might not want it (they really only have like 6 tables in there, so it wouldn't be recommendable for large groups or slow eaters anyway). While they do not have indoor dining, you are in luck, because right outside, another restaurant has outdoor/non-covered tables, and a little further out, you could even sit by the large pond and look out to Cabelas and a park. So it is somewhat traveler-friendly as well; you're not necessarily forced to eat in your car or drive home first. Of course, the outdoor seating won't do you much good in a Michigan winter, but for at least 6 months of the year, if it's not raining, you can embrace the option. There are no convenient garbage cans, but there is an open dumpster right across from the tables, and you could always take your trash with you to one of the many nearby gas stations or otherwise.
The only other thing I'm thinking could be improved is they have the old-style credit card processing. By that I mean: it takes a long moment to read, you have to sign a paper slip, and the receipt you get doesn't have an itemization (just the total). It would be great to someday see a modern pay system with mobile/NFC payment capability. As for online ordering, that would be nice, but I know they are complicated systems that the providers can charge hefty fees to license, so I don't think they will ever have this, and that's probably the smart choice unless things keep evolving a lot.
All in all, I think Great Wok is a shining example of what a local restaurant should be, and my only regret (not their fault) is I didn't discover it until 2024. If you're around Dundee, and want some great takeout food, I don't know of any alternative that comes close.

At the moment it is carry out only. This was my first time coming here and even though I didn't have the dine in experience, the host was warm and attentive. The restaurant was clean despite obvious construction. Food was great. Everything we ordered was delicious. Will definitely come back and recommend.

Needed a dinner stop on our way back home from northern Michigan. It was rated very high so we gave it a try. Portions were massive, flavors were excellent, and everything was cooked well. Only take out was available, but our food was done in a flash! Too bad this isn't in our hometown.

My favorite Chinese restaurant was actually in Manila Philippines. I find it difficult to locate a great Chinese restaurant. I promise you this restaurant is exceptional. The food is so clean and healthy and it’s the best Chinese food I’ve had in America. This is my new favorite Chinese restaurant
