Bagels here are mostly very good. The bagels themselves are excellent. But the service is a bit off. Didn't get my order right on one of my bagels and left the onions (ugh - I could still taste them even after picking them off). Still, one of the better meals I had in East Lansing which is mostly bereft, apparently, of reliably good restaurants.
Had one of the worst experiences here.
First off the food here is really good and the cashier has been nothing but super nice to me when I order food. We ordered a sandwich with no bacon on it because my girlfriend is vegetarian. I realized that the sandwich had bacon on it and went back to ask them if they could remake the sandwich. I would never blame them for mistakenly putting the bacon on it, especially because this place is always really busy. However, everyone besides the cashier was extremely rude to me when I asked for it to be remade, asking “They can’t just take the bacon off?” And looking at me with looks on their faces. Again, I don’t blame the initial mistake, but it was handled extremely poorly. Eating vegetarian should be respected as a dietary restriction and not treated with rude behavior. My girlfriend can’t even eat bacon grease/fat, that’s why we asked for a remake. On top of this, the remake wasn’t even made right as they forgot the second egg on the sandwhich.
The food at this location is fresh and delicious every day. The service is fast, quick, and easy. And the Atmosphere is calm and cozy, making it a perfect place to study or eat a relaxing breakfast.
They just had me wait for 30 minutes without telling me they ran out of my bagel.

A guy literally Overdosed in the building while i was there and the manager wouldn’t do anything to help him. Disgusting.
This was one of my favorite places on Grand River to grab breakfast until I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with the two girls that work the cashier and behind the counter. They are the rudest people I have ever had to deal with in the service industry. They purposefully ignore customers that are obviously waiting for some indication that their order is even being made. I have gone twice now where my order was just never made and both girls have treated me like it’s my fault that they screwed up putting my order in. It is extremely frustrating especially when the store is empty, which it had been both times. Another thing to note is that they do not take accountability for their actions and the second someone is visibly angry at them for messing up, they run to the back room and make the workers that make the bagels clean up their mess.
Horrible service. Got my order wrong and didnt care, food was stale and tasted bad. Overpriced. Save your money. I need to find a new bagel place.
Love everything about this place. The food is amazing! I used to love Einstein Bagels, and this place blows them out of the water. The Vermonter is my go too.
You guys have some of the best bagels ive had. Always so delicious and worth the drive. Everyone is always super nice whenever I go in, you guys rock!
