Very pleasant place. Live piano, pony rides, pumpkins and possibly the best doughnuts in the world.

I used to love it here when I was a student at MSU. Came back a few months ago and ended up throwing up after, very sick. Too bad it was once a favorite EL stop. Just bad now
We had to wait over an hour for food after being seated. My tacos were in a corn tortilla even though I requested flour. And my family had to wait over five minutes for silverware to eat. I was lucky I had tacos. 🌮 but even those were mediocre.

Toppos salad is the best ever! Margarita- nothing special- combo - not a lot of flavor - cheees was not melted - waited 15 minutes to cash out - I would recommend getting the salad to go

I went to use the bathroom, and my boyfriend was waiting outside. 2-3 servers came in to the stalls and started talking about how they had just asked a guy if it would hurt to get kicked/hit in his private area, and then they joked that they wanted to do it to him. When I came out and asked my boyfriend, he said that it was him that they asked, and he wasn’t even talking to them, they just came up and said that stuff. I am a server in a restaurant too and I would NEVER think to say stuff like that. Hope they are addressed about this so they can realize how truly disgusting and mentally odd they are. This was around 11pm 9/25 ☺️

Only reason to go to this place is if you are drunk out of your mind.

El Azteco has really gone downhill over the years, not what it used to be. Food is not good, drinks are not good, service isn't great. We will not go back again, which is a shame as it used to be our favorite place to visit when in EL.

Son felt fine all day, ate there around dinner time and has been vomiting tonight from the food poisoning he got. I knew this place was gross but this is it, never again.

The salsa is really good with lots of spice and can be slightly spicy. The chips are decent. I wish for higher seasoned, more salt, and lighter fried chips.
The chef makes a light and good Topopo salad with nice base. Thankfully, the salad provides different flavor option and lots of fresh vegetables. I wish for a just as full salad with less lettuce. Also, I wish for slightly more vinaigrette. 🇲🇽 🥗 🌽 🫛 💃 🐥 🧀

The waitress was friendly. The chips she brought out though were mostly like crumbles and small broken pieces. (Like what is left at the very bottom of a chip bag.) I ordered chicken enchiladas and my son ordered a steak quesadilla. He said his quesadilla was OK. My food was disappointing and so bland. It was like if you ordered Mexican food at Big Boy or Denny's...not at a Mexican restaurant. I would've been happier with a $3 frozen Amy's burrito from Meijer. I'm being serious. Ha!
The food was not inexpensive either. It was $30 plus tip and we had water to drink. I probably won't go back. There are so many good Mexican restaurants that are better in Lansing and the surrounding area.

Horrible service. Waitress forgot about us--was on her phone. Food was really bland. We remember El Azteco from years ago and the food was legendary. Won't be back.
