Typically love Hopcat! Usually go to the Detroit location. While at the East Lansing store last week for the first time… the service was great, super friendly staff and drinks were made perfectly. However, when it came to the food… both my boyfriend and I received burnt/old fries that honestly tasted like they were made way earlier in the day and thrown back in grease to heat them back up. For my main, I got their featured Bruschetta Turkey Burger… it did not hit for me. Taste was just okay, but I was completely thrown off by the texture. I know turkey burgers always usually have a different texture than beef but this “burger” was actual mush formed into a patty. Tasted/had texture very reminiscent of a turkey meatloaf… would not order again.

Visited twice in one day- hit both happy hours! Came back for the second because the service by Shane was spectacular! We also enjoyed the handsome manager man who looked like Paul Rudd- he even played Chinese finger trap with us on the way out- a prize we won at Pinball Pete’s… Hope you enjoy the griffin claw googly eye we left behind ;)

We had a party of 15 and service was not good. We got our food and half of dishes were cold and no silverware so had to ask. Drinks weren't filled up unless we asked. I have been there before with only 4 people and it was great. I will give it another chance.

We had a great experience at Hop Cat. The atmosphere was clean and fun in spirit. Server was friendly and conscientious. Menu had a great variety including vegetarian options other than a salad! I would consider it elevated bar food. The food came out fresh and tasted great!We were celebrating a MSU student birthday. We received a free dessert of his choice. The cookie dough cheesecake tasted fantastic! We will be back.

Alyssa was an awesome server! Very attentive and friendly. The food was really good. Loved the new queso dip and the crème brûlée cheesecake! The Rueben was delightful. The chicken bowl was good but the rice in spots was crunchy. Definitely returning!

Parking: There are only a few parking places on Albert St in East Lansing to park and those are 15 min so expect to walk around
