Me and my dad got there a few minutes before they opened on a really cold day. The manager with a nice smile saw us through the window and let us come in and warm up with some hot drinks. So amazing service and atmosphere.

But of course most important: the food was great. I even got another entree to go at the end, since the tandoori chicken was so good, I had to try something else too.

We had a large order of biryani for a university event among fellow classmates and the food was truly excellent. I intend to come back here again soon.

I’ve been three times in the past three weeks. This is the best Indian food in the Lansing area. The chicken korma is some of the best I have ever eaten.

Firstly the people don’t know to tell the order which we ordered isn’t on the menu the basic expectation of the menues have some common items with that expectation I ordered the Apollo fish the waiter noted and did said anything back but the waiter brought tandoori pomfret later at the time when we said the waiter this isn’t something which we ordered he was pretty rude saying that this is something I had one of the worst restaurant experiences ever here. From the beginning, there was confusion about the order. When the food arrived, I clarified that a particular dish was not what I had ordered. Instead of resolving the issue politely, the situation escalated unnecessarily. Later, the owner approached one of my friends and threatened to call the police, which was completely uncalled for. We had done nothing wrong and were simply trying to clarify our order.
The food itself was extremely disappointing. It was bland, poorly prepared, and honestly not good at all. To make matters worse, the full order wasn’t even completed, and we were made to wait an additional 20 minutes with no proper explanation. The portion sizes were very small — about half of what you would expect from a regular restaurant — yet the prices were overly high.
At that point, we didn’t want to waste any more time or further ruin our mood. We just paid the expensive bill and left, even though it felt like our money was completely wasted.
I initially didn’t plan to write a review, but after seeing how the restaurant responded disrespectfully to my friends’ reviews and made false claims instead of accepting feedback, I felt it was necessary to share my experience. We had no bad intentions — in fact, we left without even finishing our food.
This was truly a terrible experience. I hope others don’t have to go through the same situation. Please be careful before deciding to dine here.

After your response to my original review, I feel it is necessary to clarify a few points because your allegations are incorrect.
We did not receive any read-back or confirmation of the order we placed. If needed, you may check your restaurant’s CCTV footage for verification. We clearly ordered Apollo Fish, but a different dish was brought to our table.
My complaint about the waiting time was raised after we returned the incorrect dish. We were made to wait again for a significant amount of time without a proper explanation.
The portion sizes were not satisfactory compared to the pricing. The quantity served did not justify the high prices charged.
We were charged for food that we did not originally order. Additionally, the way the situation was handled — including the tone and attitude — was inappropriate. Customers should not be accused or spoken to disrespectfully when raising a genuine concern.
Regarding the phone call: the call was made by the restaurant, and the phone was handed to my friend by the waiter. The interaction happened on the waiter’s phone, not ours.
You may be proud of your restaurant and the food you serve, but accepting customer feedback professionally is a basic expectation in the hospitality industry. Making false claims and shifting blame onto customers is not the right approach.
Threatening customers instead of resolving concerns respectfully is also unacceptable. Better if we address this matter through the appropriate legal channels.
We want clarity regarding our order and fair treatment.

Never been to such horrendous restaurant in my life. The service and management is unacceptable, we received wrong items and were blamed for ordering item thats not on the menu. Later the manager talked to us over phone very rude and were threatened to pay up. The wait times are super long and the food is absolutely worst.

The management could have been nicer about the mistake their waiter made, and not be rude about it to portray as if we are trying to dodge the payment.

I am surprised how they are still in business, I dont think they are meant to be running a business when they cannot handle customers.

Save your money readers 😃

Edit for reply:
Its funny to assume we are all students and cannot afford to pay for our food, shows how respectful you are to your customers. I am not sure who serves roti 20 mins after serving curries 👏. Fyi, we had to go to a different restaurant to eat food again, and I am glad we did. Your service is really bad and I would love to watch the recordings you have.
I see no issue with posting our opinion and experience regarding a certain place on this app, let alone be brought up with cops.

Worst experience ever. They take the order wrong, don’t confirm with customers and expect to still pay for wrong orders. taste is horrible. Avoid if you don’t want to waste money.

Shared a wonderful dinner with friends here and everything was so very good, with the lamb korma being my favorite--so tender and creamy.

A server came over and asked how everything was, then said he was the owner. It's wonderful to see a restaurant owner who loves what he does and for whom making food is his passion.

I look forward to my next opportunity to share a meal here with friends!

My food was delicious. My server was kind and attentive. The music was fun, and wasn't too loud.
Suggestion: a sign at the front to let people know whether we should wait to be seated or sit anywhere would be helpful. It was my first time visiting so I waited for a server to acknowledge me before sitting down. The friendly server seemed to indicate I could sit anywhere and maybe hadn't needed to wait to be seated.
Overall, a really great experience.
P.S. I spent about $40, but I got two entrees so I could mix them up and have another meal for later. Most entrees are between $10 & $20.

Sree Saffron is a delicious, fresh-to-order, restaurant. I ordered the Goat Karma and Butter Chicken, as well as Naan. Everything was scrumptious, hot, packaged neatly, and affordable. I highly recommend Sree Saffron to anyone seeking authentic Indian cuisine that is flavorful and economical. The in-restaurant experience was courteous, timely, and professional. Want great Indian food, it’s as easy as 1, 2, Sree!!!
