The atmosphere was lovely, very sophisticated and refined. The service was exemplary. The food was ok. A little unimpressive for a $40 plate. I loved my experience though and felt like it was worth my while.

There is a new chef this year and apparently some people like things on the menu that are in French and therefore we needed to ask what they were. Some were quite odd on arrival. We have been three times with a menu change inbetween. We wish the food choices were like they used to be and way too much salt now. We go for the atmosphere not the food and less often. We found the waitstaff excellent.

My partner and I had dinner at the State Room recently and had a mixed experience. The restaurant itself has a nice comtemporary vibe and is nicely designed.
I was not sure whether or not bread and butter came with the meal. I only questioned that when another table did receive bread and butter. It was not discussed by our waitstaff. Other than that issue, our friendly waitstaff did take care of us throughout.
I asked for details about the molasses chicken dish. It was an accurate description by our waitstaff. It was my mistake in trying something that initially seemed unappealing, that being the use of molasses in a dish. I'm not sure who or how the culinary staff comes to a decision about an entree. However, my entree arrived and the chicken was draped in molasses. Honestly, it was a strange choice for an ingredient espcially the amount that was used. The potatoes were nicely done however, the carrot puree could have used some seasoning. Curry perhaps? There might have been seasoning other than salt, however, I did not notice any. The serving portion of the chicken was either part of a half of breast or a very small half of a breast. I only mention this as the entree was 29.00. It was also be nice, to see a few more entrees offered.
The Bistro salad was very nice and the waitstaff was able to swap out blue cheese for parm for me. We both enjoyed our dessert, both of which were made well.

Service is always excellent, staff members are kind and attentive to dining needs. Joe is amazing and one of the best servers on staff. I tried the strawberry shortcake which was made by Peter. Amazing dish. The strawberry compote was fresh and the raspberry chocolate ganache was a perfect balance between sweet and tart and the entire dessert incorporated different textures of crunch and gooey. I would recommend to anyone and thank the staff for placing it on the menu!

This is a quiet hotel restaurant. There is a nice, upscale vibe, and the food is not bad. We had chicken and waffles and the burger. As I noted, the food wasn't bad. The service was mediocre, at best. We sat for about 10 minutes before we were greeted by our server, and the server wasn't familiar with the menu. We'll likely opt for The People's Kitchen as an alternative next time.
