“Love the food! Servers Matt and Maddy in Columbus were amazing! I hate the bar stools with no backs and the covid dividers.“

“Absolutely delicious food and wonderful service. If you’ve seen Nigerian food online and have wanted to try it, this is the place. I had the egusi with chicken and fufu and it was very flavorful and cooked very well. Will be back again soon!“
“Hamtown is the best place to go if your looking for amazing soul food cooked fresh daily with expertise and a passion for cooking incredible food. Everything I've had from here has been delicious, even the mashed potatoes and gravy which may seem basic and underwhelming is so flavorful, smooth and rich, believe me the mash is not to be overlooked. Anything you order from hamtown will undoubtedly hit the soul food craving you have.“

“Food was really good. I had no complaints. We ordered an extra side which they ran out of and thats fine but the server didnt want to let us remove it from our order. We said to forget the extra side but she kept pressing us to choose something different which we didnt eat because it wasnt to our liking. She commented on it not being touched and didn’t even offer to remove it from the bill. She seemed frazzled. They ran out of pretty much every dessert while we were there. They also dont give free refills on soft drinks which is odd. I would go again outside of those things.“

“The only thing better than the eats is the workers. The man at the counter was incredibly nice and truly interested in our satisfaction-we are and we will be back!“

“Music was good and you can't beat the location. Drinks were pretty good, too. We were there on a game day, so it was packed but that's to be expected. My biggest gripe is the bathrooms. All of them seem to be falling apart. Later in the evening, there was an "attendant" who just sat in front of the only paper towel dispenser and scowled at everyone. She wouldn't let anyone use said paper towel without "tipping" first. A woman nearby tried to tip one dollar and she said it wasn't enough for a piece of paper towel. If you tipped $5, she gave you exactly one piece.“

“Came in town and wanted some gumbo and red beans and rice, so I decided to stop at the spot that I thought was best! Now, to be fair, I did come 45 minutes to closing and ordered. The cashier was very sweet and polite, so that was a plus. My catfish and red beans were fair, but baby, my greens were not as good as I remember they had a sweet aftertaste. The gumbo was not as good either it was super spicy, and the shrimp were a little under cooked for me. The only item that was hot was the fish. O, the cornmuffins were perfect! Everything else was Luke warm. Hopefully, their new location will help the food go back to how I remember 15 years age. I will try again next time I'm home and see if they stepped their game up.“
