I wish I could post a tasting sample of the food we had at our wedding as my review. I can’t count the guests (and vendors!) who came up to us after dinner and told us it was THE BEST wedding food they’ve ever had. We had Chicken Florentine and the Smoked Beef Brisket with Cherry Chutney as our entrees, and a bundle of options for our sides. It was absolutely delectable, their team was constant and so polite in clean up and through the whole process. Pricing was more than fair for the quality and amount of food per guest, and I would recommend them for ANY Northern Michigan wedding. Your tummy and your guests will THANK YOU!

A real pleasure working with Kim Smith and Crystal Lake Catering for my daughter's wedding at our home. Kim personally visited us twice to determine logistics of serving food in an unconventional space and brainstormed with us on a solution that worked perfectly. The food and service on the day of the event was exceptional, the staff friendly and professional and Kim was on-hand to ensure that everything happened without a hitch. A note on the food in particular: we were very impressed that the options included a vegetarian entree that was more than just a plateful of side dishes or pasta with vegetables and that each entree came with distinct garnishes and vegetables. The food was served warm and was delicious. The staff did a wonderful job cleaning up afterward. We greatly appreciate the time and efforts of Kim and her team. I highly recommend Crystal Lake Catering Company.

Jim was very helpful and detailed when I first began planning our catering with him. He was kind, helpful and gave great recommendations for food choices. Things started off great and I put all of my trust in Jim's Catering services. Although, things were much different the day of our wedding. Jim was unbelievably rude to my Mom (the Mother of the bride) and did not provide all of the services that were discussed and paid for in our proposal.He took all of the leftover food that we paid for and asked him to box (in our proposal). He also yelled at my mother publicly when she asked him if dinner was on schedule as we discussed. The food was not cooked on site, rather a DAY beforehand, so the chicken parmesan was not "browned" or crisp as he said it would be. Overall, we are just very unhappy with his followthrough and professionalism. On the most special day of your life, you want your guests to be treated with kindness and positive customer service. I just want others to be aware, as we truly trusted Jim and unfortunately things did not run as smoothly as we had hoped.

To start, Jim spoke with my then fiancé and I about our menu and was able to work within our budget. He prepared a wonderful menu for us based on what we liked and what ours guests would enjoy. Then COVID hit and Jim was more than helpful with delaying our event for a year and changing venues. The day of our event, he ran into a few minor hiccups but worked with us to ensure our guests weren't effected. We were able to serve our guests with a delicious taco bar. One of our guests just told us the other day how much they loved the tacos at our reception, months later. That's all we can ask for! Thank you to Jim & team!!!

Jim and company cooked us the best reception dinner for our wedding last weekend. We had a pig roast with all the fixings. The asian slaw was especially incredible. If you're planning an event in the Frankfort area don't go to anyone else for your catering needs! These guys came out to our wedding venue ( a private residence) expecting to set up a buffet but then realized that we did not have the space to accommodate their equipment. No matter. They returned an hour later (the timing worked out perfectly) with the meal fully plated and then proceeded to serve us the meal including drinks and dessert for no extra charge! These guys really went above and beyond for us and helped make our wedding day truly magical and memorable. Thanks Crystal Lake Catering Co!

They realized that they logistically would not be able to provide us buffet service at our venue and then within a matter of only an hour they were able to serve us a plated meal! Crystal Lake Catering went above and beyond and blew our expectations out of the water. The service was excellent but so was the food. Especially that BBQ brisket and berry crisp dessert!
