The unpleasant older lady waitressing really should find a different line of work. She is absolutely miserable. She walked around twice filling coffee cups for locals (calling them by name)and skipped us and skipped other "trolls" she was referring to with one of the locals. . I had to ask. Not a word, and came over filling aggressively and spilled on table and just left it. also when she came over later and took our order, that was also aggressive. When my husband asked what kind of toast they had? Her response.... Why don't you look at the menu?! We should've left right then. We use to own a family restaurant and I absolutely would not tolerate this from an employee. Look at all the reviews... It's the same lady.

Good food, clean place. I wouldn't go out of my way to go here but it was a place to sit down and eat on our trip. Portions were good, and price was good. Some other reviews said the older lady was rude but that was not our experience. She wasn't overly friendly but nothing mean to write about.

Totally random stop on our way to Tahquamenon Falls. We saw it had great reviews, we were hungry and it closed at less than half an hour. We were rewarded with a great large BLT and a grilled cheese sandwich plus a mountain of excellent french fries and pretty good onion rings. All for barely twenty dollars. If you find yourself in the area you should certainly stop by but do it before 1:30pm!

This little gem has excellent food, including homemade bread and jam! The server was sweet and attentive, and everything, from tables and chairs to condiment container to restrooms, was SPOTLESS. I'll be back!

Slow service, waited 45 minutes and still no food. 5 people standing around in the back with one person covering the front. No sense of urgency.

Stopped by this gem of a place called the Beary Patch Restaurant in Engadine, MI. on the 2nd day of our trip to circumnavigate Lake Michigan.

The place is a small family run restaurant and a wonderful place for breakfast or early lunch. We had a bit of a wait as they were full and the wait did not disappoint us.

The waitress was friendly and kind and we found out as we paid our bill, she made the biscuits and gravy which were incredible. We also had eggs and omelets. Everything was hot and cooked “just right!” (get the bear pun?)

The walls are filled with a coloring page of a bear that children (and maybe some adults) colored and they cover the walls. There were some very creative ones. You must stop in and have a bite to eat at the wonderful eatery.

Kid-friendliness: There are kids meals but as a bonus there is a cartoon page of a bear that children (and adults) can color and get posted on the walls. So cute!

I wish I could give service negative stars. The woman we dealt with was miserable. Our waitress was so incredibly unpleasant I wish we would have just left. The food was delicious, but I couldn’t really eat. I was too uncomfortable. The waitress was really overworked and apparently that was my husband’s and my fault. Just keep driving.

The woman who ‘helped’ us last week was the most miserable person I’ve ever experienced in a restaurant setting. She made it abundantly clear she did not want us there. She was curt, rude, and completely immature. The whole time we were sitting there she never said anything remotely pleasant and would complain about being there with other patrons the entire time we were there. The food was really good tho, but I still would advise people to drive past this place as there are plenty of other great breakfast places in the area.

We stopped by Beary Patch for breakfast on our way home from Mackinaw Island, and it was a fantastic find! The breakfast portions were huge, and the prices were incredibly reasonable. Even though there was only one lady working, she was attentive, friendly, and ensured we were well taken care of. The food was delicious, and the whole experience felt very local and welcoming. I highly recommend Beary Patch if you’re in the area – you won’t be disappointed! Thank you Beary Patch Team.
