Suzie was great to work with and we're very glad to have hired her as the caterer and day-of coordinator for our wedding. For catering, her food is wonderful, full stop, we had her do a vegetarian Spanish-inspired menu and the guests were very pleased, it was all delicious and every element of serving was well orchestrated. Her staff were helpful and professional. As our organizer, Suzie was on the ball with everything, again very professional and easy to work with. Everything became a blur after the ceremony but I knew I could relax because everything was being taken care of. We highly recommend Suzie and Chive for both roles (caterer and day-of coordinator.)

Best gluten free dairy free Vegan Chocolate Beet cake Ever!!! My son has food sensitivities so it makes finding pastries and cakes he can eat a little tricky. When I found chive and saw the variety of gluten-free dairy free options, I was thrilled to see their chocolate cake on the menu so my son and everyone can eat the same dessert for special occasions. It was a crowd pleaser, and I will definitely be ordering my cake from them again.

I have been a dine-in customer for years so that’s what I’m used to. The food is wonderful here but it’s so hard to navigate the constantly changing hours and the lack of updates to the google page. 90% of the time when I want to go, I find out they are closed and not open again for some days. I’ve seen replies saying they update social media and the website but instagram does not always have posts about being closed for a wedding (like today) and I think most people would take the info straight from google not thinking to also check the website and social media (and often google will say they are open when their website says otherwise but you still might miss it). It also states here they’re open for brunch but there is no brunch menu online and they are usually closed for events on weekends. Personally I feel like they should have separate google pages for the restaurant and the events/catering business so they can clearly post the hours and updates, and they shouldn’t have a separate section for brunch hours if it’s just normal food service because it says they are closed but also open for brunch? At least now after 3 failed attempts I know to double triple check if I am thinking of going here for dine in.

We hired Chive to cater our 44-person reception, and we also opted for Suzy's coordination/planning services - everything was PERFECT. We didn't get to try any food beforehand as we live out-of-state, but we trusted Suzy and wow - she nailed it. Every single thing I tasted was delicious. We had so many guests complimenting the food, and they didn't even realize it was vegan! The planning, coordinating, and decor was perfect. We gave Suzy a lot of freedom, and she blew it out of the water. It was such a great time, and Suzy and her employees were a big part of that. Thank you SO MUCH!

we love an all vegan restaurant. i was glad to find something in the area with so many vegan options. and once i saw they had a vegan banana pudding I was in. Unfortunately the food didn't hit as hard as I was expecting but it was still good. My mom ordered a salad which it looks like they pull from the premade section upfront. her carrots were moldy so we ended up splitting my dish. the girl working at the counter gave me a free dessert which was so kind of her. i got the soul bowl. fried artichokes, mac n cheese, collards, sweet potato, and coleslaw. The fried artichokes were good and a cool concept. The collards desperately needed some seasoning/salt but the slaw was realllllly good. the banana pudding was good but the whip cream was little too salty. at the end of the day I will always support an all vegan restaurant but I do not think chive would be my first choice in the future. I am open to trying other items though.

Always go back for the Rubin and Beet Cake! Very cool place for any meal. The bowls with fried artichokes are amazing

I used to love this place and would grab it for lunch on workdays quite often. I was in the area last night so I placed a to go order. I was so excited to eat it but the food was so blah - not flavorful, burnt, sloppily thrown together & simply did not look very appetizing.I ordered the jalapeño popper sandwich, nachos and a slice of the chocolate beet cake. The sandwich was terrible - the cream cheese spread was super sloppy and there was a glob in the center of the bread. The onion rings were burnt. The nacho cheese on the nachos tasted stale and awkward. Definitely did not resemble any type of vegan queso I’ve ever had - it was also this light brown color & that just looked unappetizing. As for the beet cake - that was the best thing I ordered & even then it wasn’t amazing. I’m bummed because I used to love this place but I’m very disappointed with the food and unfortunately I don’t think I’ll be back.

We worked with Chive for our Detroit wedding on June 10th, 2023. Suzy was an absolute pleasure to work with over the past year and allowed us to customize everything - our florals, decor, cutting cake, and food and drinks menus. She is truly an artist and has a great sense of design. The end result was fantastic - we had a romantic, ethereal desert-themed wedding at the Jam Handy. It felt very personalized and incorporated some of our own touches. I highly recommend Chive for event planning and catering! ALSO their vegan restaurant in Farmington is delicious!!

I was super excited to find a vegetarian place with such high ratings. I wish we could have had the 4.5 experience though. First thing that should have let me know it was going to be a bad experience I called to see what time they closed which was a good thing I did because she said “online orders only no dine in anything else” very rudely. I didn’t pay her much attention, with it being online orders only I knew we wouldn’t have to deal with nasty attitude having Nancy. We placed our order at 6:00, the estimated time was 30-35 minutes. I received an email saying that our food was done at 6:35. My boyfriend goes in to get the food to my surprise they tell him it’s not done. 10-15 more minutes they say. Goes back in at 6:45-6:50 just for them to tell him to wait outside. Finally a little after 7 he comes out with the food. All the while he said each time he went in they were acting all nervous and looking at him like he shouldn’t be in there. Now let’s get to the food. Chives you guys should be ashamed of how much you charge and how nasty your food is. I’m not sure what you guys did to make fries black but not hard. How’s you accomplish that? Then got the nerve to slap seasoning on top. Almost 80 dollars including a tip just for the food to be thrown away. The food was not hot so I don’t know what we waited an hour for. Your customer service and food sucks!! Bad experience all around!

I love this place. The owner, Suzy, is super friendly and if you join their email list, she always sends out amazing deals to keep you coming back. They are always updating the menu with different special menu items which I really like. They have an AMAZING pastry chef. My favorite desserts are the tres leches, banana pudding and cardamom cake. I really wish this place was open more during the week.
