Best Seafood lo-mein,
I've had in many years!

Hong Hua is in an interesting position, in which it targets a luxury experience and great eats. The environment certainly meets those expectations as it feels more like a higher end, business focused feel with the refinement, yet everyone seems to be in street casual mode. Also food is offered in a a’la cart style very similar to a higher end steak house; you bill can scale up quickly because of this.

Food: The menu certainly has specialized dishes you won’t find in the average Chinese restaurant. Peking Duck is one of those things you should certainly try; it’s an broasted duck served with a unique pancake & sauces. I’ve been going here off and on for the past 10 years and they seem consistent. IMHO I feel leans toward the western taste, meaning heightened emphasis on certain spices such as salt. I’ve had the opportunity to sample authentic Chinese foods in China & other Asian countries. In terms of authenticity I give them an A-; it’s tasty

Price: Seems to be on the higher end; from 1-10…I’d say level 7 or 8.

We always come here for special events such as birthdays, etc... It's been a while since we were here. We like the Peking duck and lobster with crispy fried rice. Both were up to par. Nothing has changed, but it is still very delicious. We even tried the fresh oysters and they were good. Oh, prices were a bit higher this time. Service was also very good with attentive service staff. The only negative that I noticed was that the chairs were a little sticky and the interior wood decor really needed a paint refresh to maintain its luxurious atmosphere, especially the front doors. Overall it was a good experience.

The best Chinese food I have had! However, one thing that bugs me is that our server kept taking dishes of food away and always lurking around our table to see if we were done to give us the bill.

Food was absolutely incredible.
Duck 10/10.
Fried calamari 7/10
Nest with shrimp and chicken with green vegetables was also good 8/10.
But the service wasn't all great server was grabbing plates that still had food without asking, very unfriendly behavior not very welcoming.
Well might just do take out next time surely for some Duck.

Vegan option we ordered was ok. Very bland and not very tasty.

Elevated Chinese cusine, with fresh ingredients and beautiful presentation. A very elaborate menu, and a little higher on the price side, but then again, you are paying for the whole experience here, and it will be amazing. The food was exquisite, not extremely authentic, but for the location, it was excellent, as Farmington Hills is not so populated with Chinese folk, and I did see many patrons, so it said a lot just walking into the dining room.
We had a large party, and it took a while for us to get our drinks, our soup was already at the table, and no drinks served yet.
Love the ambiance here, glamorous and refined.

Very impressive authentic Chinese food in greater Detroit area. I was truly impressed by their flavor profile, matches some of the good restaurants I have visited in San Francisco Bay Area (my high bar for good Chinese food in the US).
Their spicy eggplant and fish soup was really good. Their honey walnut shrimps were decent.

The pecking duck is great the only
Thing that would make this place the best is if they provided dim sum.

The food is beautiful. I like eating three fish and one fish the most. The fish is very tender. Today I had the fried squid, which is white and tender. I like it very much. I come here once or twice a week. This is the best restaurant in Detroit.

Hong Hua is my go to place for Peking duck, haven't found other locations that does as good or equal to this location in Michigan.

You order the whole duck, you get two dishes - the duck and then stir-fry, not sure if they still offer soup as an option.

Additionally, we get the string beans, eggplant in garlic sauce, and beef chow fun. Also got the hot and sour soup, which was decent. Extra charge for order of rice. Service is hit or miss, depending on how busy the place is.
