I met a friend at Hoke not Inn on Friday afternoon. The whiskey sour I had was excellent, but the cheese quesadilla we shared was very, plain and there was literally nothing in there but cheese—I couldn’t taste any other spices or flavors. This restaurant may be a bit off the beaten path and may not look like much from the outside, but it was one of the best places I have visited in a while. The service was very good and the food was wonderful. Exposed log beams and a somewhat dark main dining room make thus feel like a place you might find in the far northern parts of Michigan. The food was mediocre and the service was slow. The pop tasted horrendous. Not sure if it was the ice or what but it didn’t taste right. Nothing really to write home about. Only reason I gave a 3 star was because the food was at least edible.
