I was looking for something new, and I found Culantro....I'm so glad I did. I got the Arroz Chaufa con carne, and the Lomo Saltado with a side of sweet plantains. Everything was amazing. I planned to stretch everything into two dinners, but instead I had a big dinner and small lunch because I couldn't stop eating until I was stuffed. My only complaint is that the menu isn't larger.
I highly recommend Culantro, and wil definitely be eating here again myself, very soon. That Lomo Saltado is calling my name!
Vegetarian options: They have Vegan options, not Vegetarian. I can't say if I recommend their Vegan dishes or not, as I haven't tried them. But I suspect they are every bit as delicious as the carnivore dishes.

This place was great. If you are looking to try something different, give them a try. The flavor in this dish was incredible. I got extra steak with this meal.

It's a very busy restaurant. Employees are friendly and fast service, but if you are an order, at least you've to wait 15 minutes. There is a big problem with parking. Besides the store, you see a public parking lot but not free. You have to pay for parking. If you are lucky, you'll get available parking here.

Lowkey spot with great Peruvian food in a sea of “New American” options

Pretty good. Ordered the chaufa. Not sure why it had peas and carrots in it as that’s not very authentic. My wife is Peruvian and we thought that was odd. Hopefully more Peruvians will move to Detroit and there will be some competition. We will go back and get something different next time.

I ordered the chicken dish with rice and beans. The rice is really tasty, I think they cook it with the chicken stock from roasting the chicken

Ceviche is amazing. Very fresh and authentic. I’ve been trying to taste proper ceviche after my Peru trip and I found it ! Service was great and relaxed too.

I had both the lomo saltado and the aji de gallina and they were super flavorful and tasty. I’ll be back soon.

Came here for dinner and everything was exceptional. Especially liked the Salchipapas but everything was 5/5. Every dish had great flavors and perfectly seasoned. Really enjoyed this place will be back, highly recommend.

We were intrigued by their menu. We dined in for dinner and loved our food. No alcohol. Handful of booths. Order at the counter service. The empanadas were big and terrific and so was the baked chicken (pollo a la brasa) and fish ceviche. Great quality for price. The atmosphere was very calm, but an in and out kind of vibe.
