“What a beautiful, vibey restaurant in Ferndale. Love it! We went at prime time on a Saturday and were seated pretty much right away for our 7:30 reservation. The ambiance is lively and fun without being too loud, the service was great even though they were short-staffed, and the food and cocktails were top-notch.Our handsome waiter took the time to answer all of our questions and make suggestions, and even though he gave us a heads up that they were short that night, I don't think we would have even noticed. I really loved the 'mist over kanto' cocktail - made with mezcal and citrus - it's so pretty and tasty without being too smoky or too sweet - perfectly balanced. The 3 of us split 2 sushi rolls and each had an entree. The sushi was so good and fresh - I highly recommend both rolls - the Tigerlily and the Kani roll. The Tigerlily is made with beautiful salmon and the Kani with the most delicious fresh snow crab - I want to go back just for that one. It's so sweet and delicious. My 2 friends went with the waiter's suggestion of the Katsucurry - it looked and smelled divine. I definitely want to try that one next time. I ordered the Suzuki, which is Japanese sea bass in a miso buerre blanc - it was surprisingly sweet, but tasted really good with the fish, which was cooked perfectly with crispy skin. Tender, moist and flavorful. It is served with a pretty salad, but that part needed seasoning - I added soy sauce, and it was pretty good. I didn't love the amount of strong onions on it though - I'd suggest that they soak those first - they were fairly overpowering, and I just pushed them to the side. Still a good dish.I am already looking forward to returning.Parking: The lot across the street is the best lot.”

“Urbanrest is the type of brewery/bar that makes you look around and think, "It might be the pint talking, but suddenly the idea of getting old one day might not be so scary as long as there are community spaces like this within walking distance."A cool atmosphere, good beer, people of all ages and backgrounds, families, dogs at the tables outside when it's nice out, all enjoying themselves and taking a load off in a casual, familiar feel.Bonus points for the pride flags, and extra mega super bonus points for when they host the Belly It! food truck.An awesome event setting for renting out the back room, too!”

“I was very happy when they finally turned on the AC. Upstairs was VERY hot and of course noisy but to be expected with axe throwing. We played darts and it was a blast.”

“Super impressed with The Oakland always. Their staff is always super knowledgeable and ready to tell you about their cocktails or make a recommendation. Recently went during their Happy Hour (every day but Saturday, open-6:31, I believe!), and had such a delightful time at the bar. The drinks were as strong and smooth as ever and super unique without being pretentious. So glad Ferndale has an adorable speakeasy like this!”

“Long time visitor of Pops and figured it was time to leave a review. Surprised their score isn't even higher as I've never heard anything but the best things! If you suggest to someone going to Pops for brunch, lunch, dinner, you're almost always going to get a "YES!" they specialize in pizza/pasta and easy-going Italian. It's appropriately priced compared to similar restaurants. The service is always solid. The space is big, so usually the wait isn't too bad even if it's busy. I have had some lag time during service, but not recently, so I think their staffing has likely improved. They're also great for groups and private events!Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten-free choices/accommodations noted on the menu!”

“We came for dinner and every single thing we ate was excellent. We had corned beef croquets (holiday special), the roasted garlic ricotta dip, vegan risotto and short rib sandwich. Every aspect was well-prepared & perfectly balanced, service was excellent, atmosphere was just a standard milquetoast restaurant/bar but the food was magnificent.”

“We went to Public house on a Saturday for dinner. We were a group of 12 people for celebrating my birthday (it was a surprise by my husband). Our experience was great. The service was phenomenal and the food and drinks were really good. All our guests loved the place. Also, specially we had a couple of vegan friends that they really enjoyed the vegan menu. Our server, Sophia was very attentive and professional.”

“The huge selection of games they have here cannot be beat. The food and drink combined with reserving a table can make the experience slightly pricey, but if you factor in the gaming options, it makes the price feel far more worth it!I love their fries, their specialty drinks, and most of the food I've tried, but there's just one food item I wouldn't recommend. I've ordered their 4 square personal pizza a number of times, and almost every time, it has come out burnt enough that it no longer tastes very good to me. I kept trying to give it another chance, but I think I'll be stick to the other great food they have to offer in the future!”

“We hired Ruckus Tacos to cater our daughter’s graduation party. The food was amazing!! We ordered the chicken, short rib and cauliflower tacos. They were all so delicious!! All of our guests loved the tacos as well. Jeremy was a pleasure to work with in planning the event. We would definitely hire them again and recommend them to others!!”

“Sakana is always so nice and quiet when I go. Never too many people inside so you can chill out while you're there. There's booths, soft lounge chairs in back, and a bar near the front. The house sake is nice and warm, good service, dim lights but the big window lets natural light in for everyone.”

“I've been going here since 2017, and I could honestly say that the sushi is consistently of the highest quality. I've become well-acquainted with the staff members over the years, and they're undeniably hardworking yet can be personable during the slower hours. I'm a POC, and have dealt with issues of racism from other fine dining restaurants in the area-- but their service has always made me feel extremely welcome. The menu items are on the higher end, but the service, food, and cleanliness of the restaurant make every experience worth it. This is the perfect place to go on first dates, birthdays, anniversaries, and family events. I cannot stress enough that you MUST try this place!!”
