“If you haven’t been to The Fly Trap in Ferndale, you are seriously missing out.

I’ve been coming here for close to 20 years, and somehow they just keep hitting the mark. From the homemade jam to the perfect muffins, the food is consistently excellent.

The service may not always be perfectly polished, but honestly, that’s part of what I love about this place. It feels personal. They care about you, they remember people, and there’s something genuinely warm about being there.

Twenty years later, I’m still coming back. That probably says more than anything else could.

“We hosted a 40th birthday party here a few weeks ago and could not have had a better experience! The staff were friendly and helpful. The drinks were wonderful and the room worked perfectly for our needs. I absolutely would use Urbanrest again as an event space! Thank you so much to the entire crew for making our party memorable.“

“I’ve had a great experience with B. Nektar. I recently stopped in for replacement caps for the growlers I use to store water, and they have always been very accommodating.

I prefer using glass containers, and their growlers work really well for me because they let me store a larger volume than a typical bottle while still keeping everything in glass. The caps do wear out over time, and I really appreciate that B. Nektar has been willing to replace them for me free of charge when needed.

It may seem like a small thing, but that kind of customer service makes a big difference. They’ve always been helpful, easy to work with, and willing to take care of something that keeps me coming back. I’m very thankful for the way they’ve treated me and would absolutely recommend them. Stupid Man Suit is my go to. Love to see them still making it.“

“Been here a few times since moving to Ferndale. I'm yet to have the same dish twice, and have NEVER been disappointed. The owner and staff are super friendly, my food is always ready quick, and the menu/weekly specials always have something interesting. I only wish they were open later for night owls like myself, but they're worth getting up earlier for. Go for the entrees, but don't forget to grab dessert there, too! The Coconut Cream Cake that was on special the day I'm writing this might be the best piece of cake I've ever had.“

“Best steak sub/sammich ive had in a Loooong time. Easily rivals the best ive had from a Maryland philly steak place. So good I actually missed it 20 mins after I devoured it. "A sammich is a type of sandwich. However, it is not just any kind of sandwich. Any old schmuck can throw lunchmeat between two slices of bread and have a sandwich. But no. A sammich is not just a sandwich, it is not just a meal. Sammich is a term reserved for only the holiest and mightiest of all sandwiches. A sammich is a true work of culinary art; a feast on a bun, if you will. A sammich is not made of the best ingredients; it is made of the *right* ingredients. It needs the right meats, and the right cheese(s), the right sauce, the right veggies, and the right kind of bread. Taking footlong sub bread and throwing every kind of meat and cheese and everything else under the sun or in your kitchen pantry on it does not a sammich make. It is akin to an incohesive mishmosh of colors on an artist's easel. Sandwiches make a good snack, but sammiches are forever. ❤“

“these actual heroes saved my life. nothing has ever been as delicious as those veggie drunken noodles. i was starving and the food was so hot i could barely eat it and it was phenomenal. i had to leave my noodles for a prior engagement but when i returned to them they were just as delicious and still warm. they were also delicious the next day when i reheated them in my skillet. i got three meals out of them thangs and they were the best meals of my life. i believe in love again after eating these freaking noodles. maybe the world isn't such a bad place after all because sometimes you get to eat the most incredible drunken noodles you could even imagine. i walked in five minutes before the kitchen closed as well. yet still they gave me noodles fit for a king. i could cry thinking about them.“

“I had the Chicken Athena tonight. Outstanding! Fresh ingredients including fresh olives, and chicken. You could pay 2-3 times more at other restaurants, and not nearly as good as Christine's. This place is a real find!“

“Best pho hands down! Sometimes I come here 3-4 times a week. I been to other pho restaurants across metro Detroit & this place by far is my favorite! The broth is to die for! “My husband and I tried Inyo for the first time, and it was fantastic! The drinks were great, the food was delicious, and the service was phenomenal. Ricky was our server, and when I say he was the best server I've ever had at a restaurant, I truly mean it. He was attentive, friendly, and made our entire experience even better. “we didn't even get served or get any food. they refused to serve us. it took near 10 minutes for some woman to even come over and bring us to a table. after that we watched as their servers sat at the bar, and helped every one of the maybe 6 tables in the entire place that were occupied except us. they clearly have some problem with gay people as they had no issues helping any of the other guests. i watched the servers acknowledge us and just go help the other tables. we have previously had uncomfortable experiences every single time we have been there where the male servers say things under their breath until they get so irritated with us that the female hostesses have to complete our service. i truly am astonished that someone who runs a small business/restaurant would be treating people who want to eat there like that. every employee in the establishment behaved as if we made them visibly uncomfortable so maybe consider going somewhere else if you're looking for dinner. Finally, the service was already bad to begin with on top of their utter and complete refusal to serve us this last time that we tried going. I would suggest giving your money to a restaurant that isn't fully run and owned by losers who clearly don't want money!“

“This is a hidden gem in Ferndale, MI. The staff was great and the food was good with generous portions. The beer selection was amazing. I was a first time visitor on August 21, 2025. I signed up for the rewards program and received $10.95 off my bill. I will definitely visit this restaurant over and over again.“

“The most classic sports bar a sports bar can get. Some of the best pizza in town, some of the best wings in town, in the atmosphere is a classic sports bar. They even got the Jumbotron as a queer guy who likes sports And good food, This place is awesome.“

“We first went to imperial in 2024 on our first visit to Detroit. As soon As we landed, we drove straight here for a meal that we knew would satisfy. The service is always fast and friendly ( ask your server for recommendations for food, drinks, activities they won’t steer you wrong). We opted for the taco of the week ( vegan chorizo and creamy), imperial Sonoran and tostada, as well as the nachos. We were all stuffed and happy. Shout out to Pricilla“

“Last night we had Charise as our server. She was the bomb!! Great personality, knowledgeable on food. beer & spirits. I ordered half an order of plain chicken wings! Holy cow they were a full wing and huge! They were awesome. They had a little dry rub on them. Sauce on the side. We were on the 2nd floor. Very quaint and had a pool table. I highly recommend this place. It was my 1st time there. I'll be going back!“

“I first knew Detroit Fleat when it was a restaurant, and I always enjoyed relaxing on their patio with a refreshing drink during Michigan's warm months. When they transitioned to a space focused solely on events, I felt a bit sad. However, once I became pregnant, I knew I wanted to host my baby shower at Detroit Fleat! The venue always has an excellent vibe, and their bar and planning staff are fantastic. It’s a great location and very safe for kids. Without a doubt, if I plan another party, I will definitely call Detroit Fleat again.“

“Went here for my Mother's Day brunch with my husband and our two children. Started with the Billionaires Bacon. The bacon isn't much to write home about, but the sauce they put on it? Makes it 100% worth it! I got the Smothered Potatoes and added two eggs to the top, they were out of carnitas, so they used chorizo. In my option they should change it permanently! So delish! My husband got the Carnitas Benny, and said it was really good too! Will be back for sure!“
