“Look, I know opinions are like A** holes and we all have em blah blah blah blah BUT I seriously challenge you to find a better stuffed pepper than this in the country. The richness and complexity of the flavors were just immaculate. I ordered the Detroit BBQ Stuffed Poblano. Usually I'm not even a fan of BBQ sauce but oh my... There was just something special and unique about the way the sauce married each and every flavor in the vegetables, rice and chickenI also ordered the Detroit Jalapeno Popper and that did not disappoint either. Flavor was just as rich and complex. Which is WILD considering how few ingredients was in this compared to the PoblanoThese are made with lots of love, soul and spice! The Detroit pepper company is a must if you are in the Detroit area even if only for a day. It is worth squeezing into any itinerary. I promise.“
“All I can say is WOW!! What an absolute gem in downtown Royal Oak. The service was exceptional and I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Amber, who is an absolute sweetheart. The cinnamon bun smoothie, and the soup that I ordered were absolutely delicious. I will definitely be a repeating customer after this amazing first visit.“
“I'm a regular at this place for a reason! My partner and I were looking for a good breakfast / lunch joint that had options for both of us because I'm gluten free and he is lactose intolerant. All the servers are great and Coco is especially knowledgeable about the food and possible modifications to certain dishes (try the quesadilla with Burmese tofu added! So good!). The specials are always interesting and my partner is never disappointed by the cookie of the week. Their batch brew coffee is Hyperion and better than your average diner joe. We've also never had issues getting a table, which is a huge plus considering the weekend brunch scene around Ferndale. I've never had a bad meal here and suggest you check it out even if you're not vegetarian- and get the cheeze sauce on the cosmic fries when you do!“
“I LOVE TRAP VEGAN SOOO MUCH! I’ve been in Detroit for the last 4 weeks and have been here 5 times. Salads, burgers, truffle fries, and smoothies are all amazing! (I unfortunately haven’t tried the rest.) And the staff is so nice! I couldn’t not recommend this place more (and I’m not even vegan)! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️“
“If you haven't tried Ethiopian food yet, now is your chance to try it! This place offers all you can eat vegetarian for one simple price, you can also add meat dishes a la carte.Start your meal off with a hot Ethiopian tea, you won't regret it. It tastes sweetened, but it is all natural. Before you start your meal, you get a hot towel to cleanse your hands. Everything is eaten with your hands, no utensils. Tear off a piece of bread (injera), scoop up a portion of lentils, ground peas, or cabbage and indulge in a taste of Ethiopia. We also like the salad (Timatim), this is also extra but nice to try it once if you haven't, it has a sour dressing type of taste that I like to cleanse my palate with between bites. I would compare it to having a slice of ginger between different pieces of sushi. Our favorite meats are either the beef or lamb, both of which are very tender and flavorful.End your meal by cleansing your hands with another nice hot towel and go home with your tummy full and happy! Don't be scared to eat with your hands, you won't be embarrassed, everyone else will be eating it too and will be having just as much fun as you are haha.“
“wow, wow, and wow!i have had the absolute PLEASURE, of enjoying Pink Flamingo on three different occasions. Once at their pop-up in Cork Town (highly recommend following their IG for info!), once at a food policy conference which they catered, and recently i was able to get out to their brick and mortat on Woodard. All three occasions did not disappoint! the complexity of flavor, the locally sourced ingredients, and the joyous staff make Pink Flamingo a true gastronomy.i will spend a little time talking about the two events in the past. Other than the fact that i literally ate 6 chicken salad sandwiches and took one to go at the conference (nuff said). However, in my most recent experience i was driving up Woodward and decided to pop in and see what was on the menu this week. The Quesadilla dinner caught my eye. Three quesadillas, filled with a protein of your choice, come with two sides. For protein, i went with the blackened white fish, and for sides, i chose beans and fried plantains. Rich and piquant flavor on the fish, met by a crispy cheezy quesadilla, all together it was savory and scrumptious. Plus, the sides were perfect additions, the plantains offering a sweet and salty bite and the beans cooked perfectly. Loved every bite and can't wait to make Pink Flamingo a regular lunch spot! Also great storefront, they sell locally made products so it's great to see those dollars stay in the community and the collaborative promotion of other businesses! And the staff were super friendly coming from around the counter to talk with us. Also, for a Friday at 3, the place was not too busy at all. Quiet, easy in and out.If you are having an event, have them cater. If it's Thursday in the summer and you're looking to kick back around a fire and fill your face with nutritious, delicious, and creative food, go to the Cork Town spot (weather permitting).“
“Always busy- a good sign in my opinion. Staff is helpful, quick, and efficient. Great with offering suggestions and listening to what you like and you don't like. It's definitely a family setting, lots of long tables and trays for meals. Though, it also makes grabbing a spot to sit difficult if you're not with your family. I have had a number of items here but my personal favorites have been chana marsala and the cut mirchi.“
“The Chai tea has ginger, cinnamon, cardamom and other spices and is very strong. Delicious. The food is awesome ?Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly if you control your child wellWheelchair accessibility: There are Cement and wood stairs. If you have a portable ramp it is wheelchair friendly in the main room and dining table but the bathroom may require a walker, which you'd need to bring.“
“Clean and inviting atmosphere. I like the fake greenery on the walls. Staff was friendly. Chicken added to the Chipotle bowl is yummy. Way too much rice for me in this bowl however, I'd try a salad next time. It's mostly just a rice bowl.“
“I've driven by this place a hundred times, curious as to what this funky cool place was about.Tonight we enjoyed a great vegetarian meal and the unique atmosphere. Dr. Bob served up big portions of fresh made pesto pasta, falafel, stir fry and okra soup. Plus the best ginger hibiscus tea I've ever had!Dr. Bob is a practicing chiropractor, has a wide variety of herbs and cooks amazing vegetarian foods!Vegetarian options: Everything is vegetarian.“
“We came for the first time and it was actually one of the finest fast food in Michigan. Must try the veg hakka noodles.. has paneer in it and amazing taste. Must try the vada pav as well. If you are missing Indias fast food, then visit here. Great fast service and they have Indian fusion pastries as well. Eggless as well.“
