“My regular sushi restaurant was closed today so I decided to try this place out. The sushi was surprisingly good. I ordered Dragon Roll, Yum Yum Roll and Firecracker. They were able to finish them within 10 minutes. Will be back for sure.“
“Came here today with my daughter for lunch, service was a bit slow but the taste of the sushi made up for it. The man behind the counter that took our order and made our food was super nice and patient because we were a bit indecisive in choosing. Overall this little gem gets a 10/10 from us. We will definitely be “
“Absolutely wonderful place! The food?! Omg, amazing! The server/waitress? Amazing! The atmosphere was quiet considering it was just my sisters and me. Our waitress was so so sweet, she even packed our to go trays for us. We were so pleased from beginning to end and I can’t wait to go back!“
“The Mrs & I tried out a new dinning Eats. Let me tell you It was an amazing treats. For a 1st time it was truly Goblastic. I stuck with a simple shrimp plate & the Mrs scallops but wow the flavors and our chef were out of this world. The food is moderately priced but you get a lot. This will definitely be a "go back soon" Yum Yum Goblin Approved foodery.“
“This place was mouthwateringly delicious. I’ve always liked sushi but never seeked out sushi places. We tried a few different rolls, I can’t wait to go back because the shrimp tempura and all the other rolls were amazing. I’d love to try the ramen/curry next time I’m here.“
“I randomly ordered take out here because the place I intended to stop at was randomly closed today. The customer service was amazing, but when I got home, I noticed they threw in some extras in my bag! Thank you so much, that was so sweet everything tasted great!“
“I'm a pretty picky customer and tend to nitpick, admittedly. However, I've been coming here for about 2 yrs now and NOT ONCE did I have anything to complain about except for the fact that they're not open 24/7 lol! The best sushi & sashimi in the country! It's always so fresh and the presentation is beautiful! Their meso & clear soup is superb and their housemade salad dressing is delicious! The hibachi is delicious & very entertaining and interactive. The atmosphere is always great. The service is wonderful and hospitable. The General Manager is exceptional and he has built an exceptional team. I won't go anywhere else when I'm craving Japanese cuisine!“
“What a beautiful, vibey restaurant in Ferndale. Love it! We went at prime time on a Saturday and were seated pretty much right away for our 7:30 reservation. The ambiance is lively and fun without being too loud, the service was great even though they were short-staffed, and the food and cocktails were top-notch.Our handsome waiter took the time to answer all of our questions and make suggestions, and even though he gave us a heads up that they were short that night, I don't think we would have even noticed. I really loved the 'mist over kanto' cocktail - made with mezcal and citrus - it's so pretty and tasty without being too smoky or too sweet - perfectly balanced. The 3 of us split 2 sushi rolls and each had an entree. The sushi was so good and fresh - I highly recommend both rolls - the Tigerlily and the Kani roll. The Tigerlily is made with beautiful salmon and the Kani with the most delicious fresh snow crab - I want to go back just for that one. It's so sweet and delicious. My 2 friends went with the waiter's suggestion of the Katsucurry - it looked and smelled divine. I definitely want to try that one next time. I ordered the Suzuki, which is Japanese sea bass in a miso buerre blanc - it was surprisingly sweet, but tasted really good with the fish, which was cooked perfectly with crispy skin. Tender, moist and flavorful. It is served with a pretty salad, but that part needed seasoning - I added soy sauce, and it was pretty good. I didn't love the amount of strong onions on it though - I'd suggest that they soak those first - they were fairly overpowering, and I just pushed them to the side. Still a good dish.I am already looking forward to returning.Parking: The lot across the street is the best lot.“
“One server for every table that was occupied. While we were there, there were 8-10 parties at a given time. This came with very slow service and long wait times for drinks, soups, and sushi. Luckily, once we did get it, the sushi was delicious. The prices were pretty average for sushi; not cheap or expensive. I would go back, if I could find a slow time of day.“
“I finally stopped in here on a blistery January day to try something different for lunch this time around. It seems like most of the Sushi restaurants around here are either outrageously expensive, have limited hours, or both. Sushi King's open and doesn't charge a lot for what they serve, comparatively speaking. The place is small, but it appears some upgrades have been done since they moved in here. Large, clean tables along with a few other upgrades that make it more inviting. I was greeted immediately and told to sit down and a waitress would be with me shortly. I got to review the menu and it appears they have quite a few menu options to choose from. While I'm not the most well versed in Sushi, I've had enough that I know what I like. I ended up getting their lunch special for $10.95 which came with two rolls and miso soup. While I wasn't thrilled about the Miso soup coming out first, it actually worked out quite well in the end. The Sushi rolls I got looked and tasted absolutely fabulous and had all the fixings with it. Wasabi sauce, soy sauce on the table, along with ginger and proper chopsticks. My bill was about $11 after tax, and I was happy with everything here. Finally, actual sushi without an attitude from people around me, not terribly expensive and very good as well. Overall, I'd gladly return in the future for a lot more.“
“Great rolls, delicious appetizers! Best sushi in Michigan at the moment! The staff were very friendly and polite too. Carry out option was perfect, everything was ready within the time that the online order showed. The food was delicious!! I would definitely recommend it to anyone and would be going back soon to try out different rolls.“
“It was a nice, cozy place and staff was friendly. We ordered the chicken yaki udon, chicken omurice, and 4 rolls of sushi (california roll, kazoku roll, las vegas roll, square lake roll). Everything tasted great but our favorite was the las vegas, square lake roll, and the yaki udon.“
“The sushi is really good. Prices are fair and service is great. I’d like to see this place full of customers because the food deserves to be tasted by many others. I guess the place could use some updates and that’s why it isn’t attracting as much people. However, I’ve gone once and quite late, so that might be the reason it was almost empty.“
“We drove an hour and a half to Volcano Sushi (and the Great Lakes Comic Con) and were not disappointed. This was only our second time eating here and the sushi was as great as we remembered. And there was no wait for lunch. We had preferential treatment. Our waiter even looked up our previous visit (from 1 year ago) and told us what we had ordered. Love it!“
“Kabar Catering surpassed expectations for our event. The sushi chefs' prepared delicious and beautifully presented sushi, making it a memorable experience for all our guests. Highly recommend for any event that calls for exceptional sushi.“
“We tried them for the first time today at Arts, Beats and Eats and HOLY COW!!! Best food we have had in a VERY long time! The Sushi Sando with shrimp tempura and the Sushi Nachos with spicy shrimp were absolutely to die for! We will definitely be visiting their store front location!“
“First time here and it was good. The only issue we had was the tempura on our sushi wasn’t cooked enough and was doughy. The bulgogi was really good as was the fried noodles with chicken. I will say the portions were a bit small for the bulgogi and fried noodle dishes. Did not have leftovers like we do at other Thai or Chinese restaurants. We will still come back and try other dishes.“
“Loved the healthy roll and ring of fire roll. It’s a one-man show and he does a great job. This is where I go when I want more “specialty” complex rolls, it’s on my short list rotation with noble fish, just depends on if I want a simpler roll or a more out-there “
“Just as good as I remember! The new restaurant has a great mix of the old decor and new. Everything was very clean. Staff is getting the hang of things, but to be honest they did a wonderful job for just opening. Aimee was wonderful. The sushi/fish is very fresh. I would highly recommend Little Tree!“
“The best sushi inside Michigan and prices will reflect that. While the restaurant may be small in size it makes up for in spades with food, atmosphere and service. If you get the chance and opportunity to dine here you will be rewarded with a great meal. Thank you Asahi for never changing the quality over these years when so many have. You truly are a gift and a blessing to the community. Big Blue out.Parking: Parking lot is not large but when full the Vince and Joes fruit market may be used as an over fill lot.“
“I hope you're hungry! This place provides a lot of food for your buck. I had the make your own wok bowl option, which provides a protein, rice or noodle, sauce, and 3 vegetables. Wow! My husband ordered the teriyaki bowl option with the same add-on options. We also ordered some Rangoon and miso soup. All for 30 bucks. You can't beat this place if you want fresh food for a great price. Quick customer service and a clean environment all around.“
“Always amazing. They have a few different trays of sushi always ready or order ahead if you want something specific. They do sell gift certificates at the register. Free street parking or big parking lot in back(sometimes difficult to find to a spot).“
“Have been going here for years. I have travelled to many places around the world and had sushi, and Wow Sushi has one of the best authentic sushi I have had. The sushi is fresh and has consistent taste no matter what time and day I go. Love it! I always get the Troy roll, Michigan roll, eel roll and classic California or tempura shrimp roll.Vegetarian options: Vegetable Tempura appetizer, edamame, cucumber salad, seaweed salad, cucumber avocado sushi, sweet potato tempura sushiParking: Lots of great parking in the front of the restaurant“
“WOW!!! What an amazing experience. I ordered the Super Dragon Roll and it was ready within minutes. The service and ambiance of the interior was super cute! One of the most delicious rolls I have had in SO LONG! I will most definitely be coming back. Thanks Sushi Zone for a fabulous lunch that hit the spot“
“This place is amazing! Great service from the moment we walked through the doors and very quick seating. The sushi was amazing and very fresh. Prices were very affordable and staff were great. Overall, a wonderful experience and we will be coming back!“
“Reviewing on behalf of my wife. I'm not a seafood person so this place doesn't do much for me. My wife on the other had absolutely loves it. According to her, this is the closest she's found to the poke bowls she enjoys on our trips to Hawaii. The bowls are built with your choice of ingredients. Start with a base of rice, add your protein, veggies and toppings. She says everything is fresh and quite tasty.“
“Umai cafe is the perfect spot for lunch after a winter hike. The cafe is clean & cozy and the staff were very kind. The food was good and the chocolate avocado smoothie was decadent. The miso soup and potato salad taste fresh. The cafe has a projector to play video clips and gentle music to create a pleasant atmosphere. The cafe is tucked into the corner of a strip mall, and is situated next to a fitness studio that unfortunately has no soundproofing so for a portion of our visit the loud noise had a negative impact on the experience.I look forward to visiting again and love that there is a local spot for avocado smoothies and fresh onigiri.“
“First time trying this place for lunch.. the sushi was fantastic! I also got the chicken hibachi with veggies and fried rice as well as a garlic butter and extra yum yum sauce.. this taste just good as Osakas if not better and for the price you can’t beat it.. I spent $12 on a medium plate to go and it’s literally the same portion size as my their places.. I don’t ever leave reviews but this place deserves it! Over the top!!“
“This place is a good place to eat out atVegetarian options: They have many vegetarian options to choose fromKid-friendliness: My little brother was treated with respect and friendlinessDietary restrictions: They are very safe about everything“
“We tried Ronin Sushi the other day and it was decent. The vibe was cool, be aware that the lounge upstairs some of the seats don't have backs! I would recommend the lounge for a drink but not for a full meal - worth the wait for a table downstairs. The shrimp with yuzu app was tasty, the sashimi was fresh, sushi was okay (not bad but not super memorable). My boyfriend and I both got the whiskey sours and they were very tart. I would come back for the ambiance and the apps/sake. Random critique but organize the menus! It was kind of challenging to shuffle through the three menus front and back as some had similar food items/cocktails and others had different. Streamlining the menu would do wonders.“
“Love this restaurant. Have been coming here for 30 yrs. But please improve the way you deliver plum sauce/ hot mustard. The same open container with the same spoons should not be shared from table to table. We noticed after asking for plum sauce we received the condiments from the buffet that were then placed on the buffet after we were done with our meal (without changing the containers or spoons looking ready to be shared to the next table that requested). Quite disturbing.“
“Such great food and service!, my family just came from there. I wish I got our waiter’s name he was so patient, kind and understanding when we couldn’t decide on the menu. He made the experience 10x easier for my family. The food was good as well “
“I am absolutely outraged with the behavior of the owner today at SOHO. My family and I went to this restaurant after Saturday little league games. We had 5 adults, 5 children and 2 babies. We have been to this restaurant countless times as a family. Today, after sitting and looking an menus, ordering drinks, we were met by the manager that came to our table and said “I’m sorry our limit is 8 people”. Confused, we asked for clarity because again, we have been to this restaurant countless times with the SAME group and number of people. In fact, we have NEVER been to this restaurant with less people. I asked, “wait are you saying we can’t eat here today because of the number of people?“ THAT is how confused I seriously was. The manager then responded, “Yes, I’m so sorry”. I pointed out to him that we had been sitting, getting ready to order for quite some time. Moments before this, the waiter came to take our orders but had to leave to grab us extra napkins. He said that his waiter called him all the way from his home because he couldn’t “do it” - referring to asking us to leave. There were quite a few other staff members there. So if this was a rule, why didn’t any of them point it out to the “new person” or let us know right away Of their “party limit”.? Please know we went on a Saturday around 330pm and there was two other parties in the entire restaurant - totaling only 5 other people. To me, if I had a party that was a few people over my “limit” I would not kick them out one, but definitely not when my restaurant is close to empty and the party has already been sat. Because of my “new team members” error- as a manager, I would have continued to serve this party. I need to point out that NONE of us in our entire lives have ever been asked to leave ANYWHERE. We are a Christian family of Pastors and ministers. I say this to speak to our character. There was no behavior on our end, that warranted this. I also pointed out that the table we were sitting at was DESIGNED for more than 10 people. We didn’t come into the restaurant moving tables and chairs together, the table was already set up for 12 people to sit there. I asked the manager why we were sat and waited on For all this time to then be kicked out? He claimed that the person who was our waiter was new and didn’t know their 8 people limit rule. I pointed out the fact that the table we were sitting at was set up for 12 And asked why that is if they had a limit of 8? He then said with our number of kids - it is not safe for them in the restaurant because their establishment serves alcohol. So first it was because our party was more than 8 and then it turned into being an issue with the number of kids? There is absolutely no reason for this behavior. To me, the only thing that makes any sense is it being racially discriminatory. I strongly urge you to no longer go to this restaurant. Of course, we left with no issue because if we are not welcome or wanted because of race or any other invalid reason- we don’t want to eat at the restaurant anyways. But point of my review is to prevent this from happening to anyone else. we used to love this place and our entire family would come. never again, even with 2 people will I step foot in this establishment and I will strongly encourage everyone I know and everyone that’s reading this to do the same.“
“By the suggestion of a friend who hasn't had sushi in ages and wanted to try something new, we ended up here as virgins and I have to say, the experience and food was really good.It can almost feel Intimidating to pick out something from the menu because of idea of you getting something you are used to eating in a bite sized format in a bowl but the experience truly something different.I tried the Dynamite Roll but substituting the Ahi Tuna with Crab meat and it was good and spicy. My lemonade at medium sweetness with peach and mango bubbles was delightful as well.Thank you Amen for the grade A first time experience. I will be back!“
“Picked up a takeout order. The guy working was really friendly, greeted me immediately. Tons of vegetarian options. The food wasn't super flavorful and a little on the expensive side for what it was. $30 for three vegetarian options in picture. Still very good selection and service.“
“This place has the most amazing sushi.I have been going here for years and have not once had a bad roll. The flavor, the quality of the fish and how truly amazing the owner is.He is so truly educated on what he does compared to other sushi places that I feel do not produce as good quality of food, because of produce gone bad or lack of good fish.I wish he was truly busier for how amazing his shop is because it is a gem.If you pick a place to eat and want good fish and an amazing chef this is the place to go.“
“I'd had sushi maybe once from Tai Fai and though good hadnt thought of them again. Im in the area on a monday and decide to get sushi takeout ( no dine on here). Its on 9 mile west of downtown in a small strip mall. It's tiny and does a busy takeout. Lots of sushi and korean variety. The sushi box was beautiful. I'd suggest you look ahead of time as it's a big menu. They're friendly but comically busy but know what they're doing. Good, good foodParking: Small lotWheelchair accessibility: No but get delivery“
“Love Sushi is a great, casual sushi spot in the area. The exterior doesn't get you ready for what's inside (a classic "don't judge a book by its cover" tale). At the time of writing, I've been a handful of times. I usually visit with friends for a group lunch and dine-in.For starters, the parking lot needs some work. There are potholes galore, so be careful. The atmosphere inside, however, is not a reflection of outside. It's a well-decorated restaurant, and it's always clean. The hostesses are usually friendly, and the waiters/waitresses are quick and helpful. There's ample seating for big and small groups with spaces at the bar area, as well. The food is superb. I have had a variety of rolls, including the spicy California, various basic, salmon, and tempura rolls, and a few appetizers. I have never had an issue with an order. The food comes out at a great speed, and everything is reasonably priced. On the downside, the air is almost always on, so it can get cold quickly (depending on where you're sitting). I highly recommend the fried avocado. I was skeptical, but it's addicting.Definitely give this place a try, it won't let you down.Parking: It's a bit bumpy out there, especially when entering/leaving the parking lot. There is plenty of space, though!“
“This place is awesome! They are sooo nice and friendly when you enter, the food is super good. When you order Togo the food is still hot after 30+ min. The hibachi menue is great, chicken steak and shrimp 10/10! And their miso soup is perfect! last but not least, portion size is great for dine in and Togo! I drive 30 min both ways to get their food.“
“Excellent sushi, never disappointed. I have visited this establishment many times over the past year. Whether it's carry out or dine in, it has always been good.Edit: I’m still not disappointed in the sushi, but I’m glad the staff has a great relationship…to the point that they ignore their patrons. This is not the first time I’ve sat at the bar and been ignored. It’s too bad the bar tender didn’t get their prep work done BEFORE their service. My suggestion, order take out. The sushi is great, the people SUCK!“
“Solid neighborhood American-style Chinese food at a reasonable price. Food is always tasty and fresh. We're not a huge fan of the flavor-profile on the egg rolls, but that's more of a taste preference than a real complaint. The staff is very friendly and pick up time given is always accurate.“
“With all honesty was coming to give a four star... but tasted the sushi, sashimi and nigiri, I'm impressed. The taste does not deserve anything less than five stars. The reason I waned to mark down was because there was one soy sauce box in a multiple order, no chop sticks, no napkins. But again, the taste deserves nothing less than five stars.“
