Imperial Reviews
Loved that there are so many options for vegans and tacos are stuffed to the max. Great for a snack or a sampling feast. Cocktail and mocktail options are delicious too.
We first went to imperial in 2024 on our first visit to Detroit. As soon As we landed, we drove straight here for a meal that we knew would satisfy. The service is always fast and friendly ( ask your server for recommendations for food, drinks, activities they won’t steer you wrong). We opted for the taco of the week ( vegan chorizo and creamy), imperial Sonoran and tostada, as well as the nachos. We were all stuffed and happy. Shout out to Pricilla
I really enjoyed my 3 vegan tacos. They have about 5 taco options plus vegan nachos and a couple other dishes. Vegan options didn’t feel like an afterthought which I usually encounter in restaurants. Great service. Look forward to going back.

Imperial is a funky and fresh restaurant with friendly servers and delicious food. Known for their amazing tacos and margaritas, it’s a must-visit spot in the area. The blue crab nachos are a hit, along with the elote and mocktails. The specialty tacos, especially the Al Pastor, are out of this world. Recently, the restaurant added a whole section on their menu for vegan tacos, including the vegan seitan taco and vegan carnitas taco, which customers highly recommend. The food consistently impresses, with large portions of nachos loaded with high-quality toppings like cheese sauce, cotija cheese, fresh jalapeno rings, black beans, and pickled onion. The chipotle salsa is often praised as possibly the best salsa ever—smoky, sweet, and robust without being too hot. Customers also enjoy their margaritas, which are delicious and perfectly strong. The service remains attentive and friendly, making for a great dining experience. Although the restaurant is popular on weekends and tends to have long picnic-style tables, there are plenty of seating options, including booths for smaller groups and bar seating. Imperial is a favorite spot for many, and visitors often look forward to returning, whether for the food, drinks, or atmosphere. It’s a place that continues to be recommended for its consistent quality and fun vibe.
