“Just left and wanted to write a review ASAP! Took my guy here for his birthday. We went to the bingo brunch. Even though there weren’t many people there at 10 am the bingo host played the game and awesome music in between each number being called. We each won bingo and got some fun prizes - shirts and games. The atmosphere is cozy and perfect for playing games. The hostess was very welcoming. Our server was sweet and attentive and the food and drink were fantastic! What a gem! Can’t wait to come back!“

The owner did reach out to me to apologize and offer cleaning/replacements for my clothing. They also spoke with the staff to make a training and learning lesson for them which I appreciate. I’m changing my rating of the experience based on Owen’s response, as most owners do not attempt to rectify a bad situation.

I have never had an experience as bad as the one I just had at Firebird Tavern. Needless to say I will never return or recommend this place to anyone. The visit started well and our server was very pleasant and attentive. Halfway through our visit, a full tray of drinks and shots was spilled on me to the point that a mop was needed and a wet floor signed was placed behind me. Not only that, but my white shirt is stained and not reparable. I was soaked. The server eventually did apologize to me and told me that she was personally comping ONE of my drinks. First of all, I would NEVER expect the server to comp any drinks. Second of all, I was never approached by the manager to access the damage or talk about comps, WHICH I would assume from the establishment itself. When we were brought our bill, I asked the server, ‘what is the establishment taking care of for my damages’. The manager eventually came to talk to me and did not seem aware of the situation, even after many servers explained what happened and I showed him my clothing that was still wet and stained. He simply replied that the server was comping one drink and he would see what he could do. The server came back with the same bill, no initiative from the bar or manager and I paid for the bill as it was. How is this acceptable from a bar that my table paid several rounds of drinks and food for the night? I have never experienced this lack of care in my life and cannot express my disappointment and frustration with the management and overall experience of Firebird. What an embarrassment to our city. As a resident of the downtown area, I would never expect such a terrible experience.“

“A special day. A special night. Couldn't be better. Arranged by our son and daughter. The waiter did everything, except eat our food. The wines were a delight and the steak and salmon were prepared with artistry. He guided us with each entre and the salad was shared by us with dressing aside. Wine, was by the glass and was both red and white and light, semidry and elegant. Our perfect dinner ended the perfect evening. Thank you 220 Merrill for a wonderful 50th.“

“Originally from Michigan but now live in Florida. Went to Detroit for the weekend to attend Red Wings games. Looked for perch dinners and found Andrew’s. Absolutely awesome perch with a generous portion. Loved the atmosphere of the old time era. Staff exceptionally friendly as was the owner. Would definitely recommend this place and can’t wait to return. What I liked was the minimal breading so you have the true taste of perch. This is by far the place to go if you love perch.“

“We used Malone’s for a girls craft night and it was an amazing experience! Laura, the manager, was beyond helpful. The staff hustled to make sure everyone was taken care of (we had almost 50 attendees!) and the food and drinks were great! Definitely will be back and I highly recommend!“

“As Toby Keith would say, “I love this bar”! I just found my new home away from home. So cute inside. TV’s, pool, darts…etc. Amazing food. Which they are going to expand their menu. Keno is coming soon. ? They have fish for Fridays. I’m hooked. ? I had the garden fresh pizza and it was fabulous. My girlfriend had the Guido burger and she said it was heaven. Met George, one of the owners and cooks, very friendly! Looking forward to my next visit here.“

“Gator Jakes is one of the best bar/restaurants in the area!!! Awesome food, great specials and delish drinks. The wait staff and bartenders are always so nice and efficient. “Just got a nice craft beer before the start of a tiger game. Friendly bar tender and fast service. Nice sized craft and standard beer menu. Low top, booth and bar seating. I liked the environment that made it feel like you were at a pub and not inside a baseball park. Pricey but I would return.“

“This place is an absolute gem! I randomly found it after my nail appointment down the road and I am SO glad that I did. The drinks were strong and well priced and the whitefish was the best I have ever had! Huge piece perfectly cooked with a thin, crispy batter served with two sides from a huge selection! Truffle fries were delicious and DO NOT sleep on the key lime pie, hand made by the owners themselves... Incredible!

The best part of the whole experience was the AMAZING service that Joyce provided. She was fun, friendly, and attentive and I will be going back to see her very soon despite living pretty far away.

“This place just reopened, and oh my goodness. First of all, the owner, Nikki, is fantastic. She's very welcoming and the atmosphere she's created here is outstanding. There's TVs lining the walls, a great stereo system with good bass, and very good music at all times. That's not even the best part, though. The Chef knows what he's doing! You can tell he has a passion for his craft, and it shows in his dishes. I had a steak today that was to die for. I wish I'd taken a picture (sorry readers) but that steak was so good I couldn't bring myself to stop eating and pick my phone up to take one. I'd give it 6 stars if I could.“

“Been awhile since I have been to the bar, I got the Southwest Detroit Egg rolls. They were pretty good, the bartender was exceptional. A lill small but they do gave a bigger out door tent in the back. My 1st time going there but I'm pretty sure I will be back.“
