This cafe is my new favorite spot. Super inclusive and vegan-friendly. The oat milk lattes are delicious and the vegan strawberry donuts are an amazing treat. Inside is cozy and full of charm, and the outdoor space with hammocks feels like a hidden gem. Love the vibes and their visible support for justice.
Grab and go bakery option that was vegan. Much appreciated find! Wish they had more,…Then again I always do.
???WARNING???the owner of this establishment, and perhaps her staff as well, might issue you quite a brutal verbal assault (or very rude behavior at the very least) if you don’t prescribe to their particular brand of political ideology. I witnessed her have a total meltdown over someone having written with chalk some very peaceful & loving Christian messages on their outside patio. She immediately began washing it away with her hose mumbling to herself about how they must remain inclusive…I asked her well, doesn’t that include Christians then, too?
She didn’t really have an answer for me. Then later, when me husband asked to have his croissant warmed up, because he likes them very soft & warm, she starting berating him about how fresh and good her croissants are and that they come from a real French bakery. He tried to calmly explain that he just likes when the croissant is very warm & soft but she insisted on engaging in a full on argument with him about it. Very pretentious & snobby towards any criticism or even conversation over things that may be outside her scope of understanding…quite disappointing considering the immense amount of potential there. Would have totally loved it there otherwise.
One of my favourite coffeeshops, everyone is so friendly and inclusive, the coffe is delightful and the small bites are very tasty. One of my current favorites is seasonal maple mocha (I might have gotten the name wrong) and the birdsnests

Deduct because the coffee is great, but if you got space for a Gaza fundraiser jars and posters, you got space to advertise bringing the hostages home. I won’t come back here due to this.
You talk about inclusivity, but for who? Certainly not everyone hence why i’m writing this outside your business.
Lots of liberals who wouldn’t survive an hour in Gaza that work here forget who carried out the attack on who Oct 7th.

First time here. Pros. Loved everything about this place. Excellent customer service with as smile. Plenty of parking in the main and adjacent parking lot. Plenty of seating. Great array of baked goods and iced/hot coffee drinks. Cons. Wish they had skim or 2% milk (they only have full fat).

Very few coffee shops have the vibes of Drifter Coffee! They have a good menu with all the standards and a great selection of sweet and savory croissants and pastries.
What makes this place special is all the great seating areas, both indoor and outdoor. They've done a great job making areas feel separate and somewhat private. It's a great place to meet up with someone for a great coffee and conversation.
You'll often see people reading a book as most of the seating isn't powered, which is refreshing.
Parking: There is free parking but only a few spots next to the building. There are lots of spots behind the building

Went here for an event in the back area. Very nice set up. I went in and tried an iced tea with sweet cinnamon and toasted coconut syrup. It was very good. Definitely recommend if in area. It's super cute inside and out too. They have bees housed outside in the front, a cute mural painted on the side, a cool lounge area with a hammock on the side and seating around the side and back of the building with wildflowers and such. Lights strung about that lights up the area and give a great ambiance at night. Very cool vibe. Nice hang out joint.
Staff were incredibly accommodating and made me a special drink!

The ham and cheese crossisant I had contained the worst cheese I have ever consumed in my life.
At first I thought it was very sharp, which I like. However, towards the end of eating the product ,the sharpness began turning noticeably sour and bitter. A few minutes passed, and the sour/bitter flavor, a flavor remincent of phlegm from a deep seated bronchial infection , had intensified in my mouth. Twenty minutes later the flavor still remained so powerful tasting that I was concerned that the cheese had gone bad and I would be ill later in the day.
Over an hour later the taste did subside. It was suggested to me that it was vegan cheese. If this is the case, that recipe does not need work. No, it needs to be destroyed and it's ashes separated upon the banks on the opposite sides of a river.

Drifter is easily one of the most valuable assets to the Ferndale community. They not only provide delicious coffee and snacks, but also function as a hub of community care, advocacy and queer joy. Vegan friendly, inclusive, everyone belongs here.
