Edit at end.
Full transparency never been to the actual location but have ordered direct and purchased from vendor. The customer service I received from this vendor was awesome.
Meads I've tried are heather, leatherwood, heart of darkness (cherry/currant).
Someone else mention dansk mjod. Yes, I would say get that if this is not feasible with the cost. Both are awesome and I drink them both for different occasions. They aren't the same shelf.
This for me is special occasion (Beltane, Lughnasagh, etc). It is absolutely gorgeous. All meads I have tried are layered, so deeply honey driven, and loaded with fruits for the melomel.
If you want to taste the season, and be grateful for what the plants and insects combined with human effort can make, taste a narrative. Drink home made mead if you can make it or get it from a loved one, share it, or for my situation I have to buy it. I do recommend this meadery, and yes it is expensive.
Edit I did visit and left with a bottle of their cyser. I went for a flight and it was great - the service was friendly and welcoming and I also got a book to help me learn more. Not cheap, but extremely high quality.
I was gifted two bottles of the ginger mead. The ginger flavor was so faint if I didn't know it was supposed to be ginger mead I would have just thought the mead was a delicious plain mead. The mead had a great mouthful and beautiful color. Too bad no ginger flavor. The person who gifted the bottles to me stated that the tasting room was closed and could only purchase via online orders. The meadery is only open on Friday and Saturday noon to 6pm. So weird
22 dollars for a little bottle of blackberry Mead. Ridiculous prices and would never suggest anybody to buy it. I just bought it because I was d*** and somebody suggested it to me.If you want to get a good mead that's a bit pricey just get Djansk Mod. Better quality Mead.
Best mead, best customer service hands down
Bought my first bottle of Madeline a couple weeks ago and just finished it, I've been sipping it so I don't chug the bottle. This is definitely the best mead I've ever had and I would go as far as to say the best alcoholic beverage I've ever had. It's like they took the tears of a God and bottled them for us mere mortals to drink.
A taste of heaven on earth!
$26-$46 for a bottle that barely holds more than a single can, for Mead that could be considered average. (A single can holds 255ML, a bottle of Shramms holds 275ML)It's not a bad flavor, and it does run smooth, but it absolutely does not stand out more than any other variant of mead. True highway robbery.
This place was amazing...I liked all but two of their wines they had on hand. Small location with star power for days. I recommended this location to anyone that's a wine lover and those that are new to the game. The bottles to take home are a little om the high side depending on what you get but honestly you get what you pay. Cheers
If you love mead it's worth the trek.
I placed my first mail order for mead from Schramm's and the experience was great. Ordering was simple and shipping was fast and convenient. And of course the mead is great. I'll be ordering again in the future for sure.

The best mead in Michigan. I love all of your products. Your mead is flavorful and smooth, pairs well just about everything. I need to give a big shout out for the personal delivery to my front door today during quarantine. It was like Christmas morning when the doorbell rang. Keep doing what you do!
The most incredible mead experience I've ever had.
